Does it make sense to GE rush national wonder.
In rare circumstances you can sort of turn the GE hammers into units by rushing ironworks.

Civ Vets, what do you think?
Allow civs to grow perhaps. The worst look of civ 5 was all the unclaimed land well into the game.

When you set up an espionage economy. Easily the most powerful economy when done correctly.

The other thing about settling on banana is that a helper city (2nd, or 3rd if 2nd city needs to grab resource) can be settled on sugar.
