Thanks for the info! It definitely explained a lot. It seems that even people with really powerful pc's are still having problems with the game. I have 512mb ram and i've been thinking of going up to a gig so i guess i'll be doing that but won't expect that to cure the game's woes.
yes that screenshot was from a large map. So I just tested with a standard map and this time it shot up to 630mb. I guess it's the map size then. The only problem is that when i start playing the game it's not like it goes back down to less memory utilized.
I was playing a windowed civIV game and noticed that it was killing my pc (which is above the min. requirements but things had come to a crawl) so I thought I'd just start fresh. I rebooted and opened up Task Manager and then i started CivIV. It went to 310mb of used Ram (out of a total 512mb)...
Yes it's sad, but it was inevitable. and as Gandhi said, "You must be the change you wish to see in the world." and if you want to see a legit world then all you can do is be legit urself.. 2 legit.. 2 legit 2 quit :crazyeye:
I am trying to call my EB games in Jersey City and I keep getting a busy signal. boo.. i'm just gonna go over there at 3 and see
edit (11:46am): I got through to them and the guy said he got a bunch of boxes delivered but doesn't know if Civ is in any of them... loser!
