    In Civ 4, pitboss allows for a very long turn limit so it is essentially as laid back as PBEM. You can also disable simultaneous turns and have automatic email reminders with pitboss.

Another thing which I think is important is the ability for the creator of a branch to limit those who have editing rights along a branch.     A bit dissapointed!

    I have a hunch that maps will be much larger and the minimum distance between cities will be greater. This will give room for large sprawling battles on the landscape. This will also help balance the increased unit movement.
