    Korea

Hey all, I'm on my third game with the Community Balance patch. So far I've found my games to be excellent but today I encountered what could only be described as a game breaking science runaway with a Korea with Mosques, Scholarship(?) belief and a 14-source amber global monopoly. Game...

Aaaand kill everybody. Everybody you can find.

    Most balanced civ.

Agreed Aztecs for one of the best for multiple win conditions. Culture and domination for obvious reasons, but can't count out the science edge to be gained from the jungle bias. The only thing that the Aztecs have a hard time with sometimes is a diplomatic victory. Too much to be gained from...

    When do units obsolete?

Warriors and your Jaguar warriors, explicitly in game mechanic, become obsolete with Metal Casting. That is, you no longer have the option to purchase or build warriors when you research that tech. You cannot purchase any unit with faith, just as you cannot with gold or hammers, after it...

    Alhambra and America

Huh, for some reason I had it in my head that I would need both the Alhambra and the Brandenburg gate. But if barracks armory heroic epic and Brandenburg can get them out with three upgrades I guess that does it.

    Alhambra and America

Yeah, I was wanting to see if I could churn out minutemen with march.

    Alhambra and America

Does the Alhambra give American minutemen drill two? Really specific question I know but I just missed the wonder in my America game, and now I'm just dying to know.

    Civ 5 Leaders Elimination!

That elimination was who you like to play as, not your opinion of the other leader's behaviors. And maybe as such, we can consider changing our tally from civ names to leader names? Seems more appropriate. Adding in adsin15's votes to the tally below, for good faith, as well as my own...

    Best Beard Elimination

Nebuchadnezzar for sure. Then Harald Bluetooth with his oh-so-...in beard braids.

    Your favorite Religious Building?

I'm actually curious, aside from the obvious culture score difference, how people here consider pagodas against the +2 happiness from temples belief. If you have both buildings, than you are getting an additional 2 faith a turn in each city. But then again, you would have to be spending faith to...

    Unique Ability Elimination Thread

Commerce, rationalism, pantheon and trading posts makes for ridiculously powerful jungle tiles. In fact, the science edge can let you forgo piety and still have a competitive culture if you have an advanced military and are a dick about it because of (drumroll) sacrificial captives!

    Unique Ability Elimination Thread

Sacrificial Captives: 8 (+1) Scholars of the Jade Hall: 7(-3) Achaemenid Legacy: 16 SC: I feel the need to defend my favorite civ here. Sacrifical captives fits so well with a warmonger civ that is so good at killing units if you carry those woodsmen and healing promotions through the game...

1000 Clues You Play Civilization V Too Much.

They did, but the attack bonus wore off halfway through world war one.

When do you decide what victory to go for?

I usually start the game with two or three possible victory conditions in mind, and I generally work towards all of them. I like to have room to stray and follow whims when I play, so it's usually a "multiple outs" kind of situation. Needless to say, I like playing Civs that are particularly...

Discovering New leaders is very nice.

Just played my first game of Gods and Kings, and met Pacal, Dido, Gustavus, William of Orange, and Hallie Selassie all in the same game. Also met Kamehameha for the first time. A flavorful game it was. Except I hate listening to Dido talk. And what is with Kamehameha? His displays are very...
