    G-Minor XXI

Just logged in for the first time in ages just to let you know that there are probably many more people, like me, who are fans of the gauntlets but won't send them in. I'm on my third attempt now, prior one was 348, but this one will maybe get 300. It's always fun to see how others solve the...

How do you rate Civ 5?

    3. If they do their homework regarding bugs: 4, or even 5. I see potential. They just have to bugfix it into the game.

As a old player of CIV series for 15 years, I have to say CIV5 is the best

Wall of text. I love that they cut out many small elements which were just annoying. Like this one: You practically had to have a unit in every city you founded. Just make it so that you don't have to make that anymore. You don't have to road every tile to infinity anymore. Wow is that good, it...

[FIXED] Can't end turn because of bugged Puppet production

Got a city in a peace deal. Made it a puppet. Game just stays at "choose production". For the puppet city - you cannot choose production in a puppet, so I cannot continue.

    1300 BC American Rifleman

Same thing around the same time (1300/1200 BC) happened to me. ALSO playing as Romans. ALSO the Americans got the Rifleman. And promptly began to annihilate the continent.

[CIV 5 Issues] - The complete list

I generally love Civ 5. However, one thing really ruined a game of mine. Washington somehow got a Rifleman around 1200 BC (i suspect the ruins / weapon upgrades) and just started to annihilate absolutely everyone with this unkillable monster. :crazyeye: 23 Strength, goodbye cities or whatever.

Crash after this morning "patch" download

I have XP and had a similar problem, or maybe the same. My game only crashed when creating maps. I had a stroke of genius, but couldn't believe it when I first noticed it, so I tested why it suddenly began to work. I didn't move my mouse, or do anything with the keyboard, while the map was...

    How should I proceed?

I second the comments already made. Definitely mine/farm/pasture. A good start, though a not so great later city. Well, you'll live with it. Anyway, it's an ok place to produce military, workers, settlers early on, and you can use the city to build the occasional world wonder, which you already...

    Military Struggle (Monarch)

With enough cannons and riflemen, or anything, I would hit him anyway, grenadiers or not. Try to lure his offensive grenadier stacks into your territory first, then finish them with some cannon suicides and rifles, then go on the offensive. Not quite elegant, but it should work. :crazyeye: Try...

    ALC 27: Churchill of England

I'd start with workboat, workboat, worker; and I'd settle on the blue circle as well. But I guess it may be overkill to start with two workboats, I am not that sure about it.

    Noble - watery domination

Just try it. What can possibly happen? When I first-tried any difficulty above noble, I got trashed the first 2-3 times. After that, I became better. Do not feel discouraged by that :) Every difficulty level, the game becomes different (at least when you're learning them gradually). So...

How to adjust to playing larger maps?

You'll want to match the map size with the respective speed for an enjoyable experience, you're right about that. On Huge, I normally play Epic or Marathon, though with Epic it can be really tough to fight wars because everything may be so damn far apart. For other things than wars, speed is not...

Help a newbie win as Incas

Ohhh Starcraft, bought that as a budget pack 2 years after it came out. Then went online to play after I had finished the human campaign. After I won some games against people who couldn't do literally anything, I encountered the real opponents. To whom I was one of the people who cannot do...

Help a newbie win as Incas

TMIT, you're of course right. A pillage stack would be better if not only mounted, e.g. 2 axemen, 2 spearmen, 1 archer and 2 mounted units or more, probably chariots, so that you can move every turn and pillage nonetheless. Something which is big enough to annoy and able to take weakly...
