Am i the one who's using the most mods in one single game?

I'm using 0 mods. Can anyone beat that? Is anyone using a negative number of mods?

Tourism - bit of a grind still?

Each to their own, but imo, producing artists and having them sitting about when you could have a work created and generating tourism is wasteful. With a bit better planning, it's not that difficult to get great people produced at the right times, without resorting to stalling in a specific era.

Tourism - bit of a grind still?

As for Broadway... you get a free musician with it too, so you would only need to create two in that era for the theming requirement. You can either slow your progress into the next era by not working the required tech until you've got both the musicians, or you could generate one the normal...

Tourism - bit of a grind still?

On the tourism screens there's a separate tab for swapping works. "swap great works"

Tourism - bit of a grind still?

You get a free Artist with it, which only leaves another artist and two artifacts. The trick would be to try and get two artifacts from different eras and civs first of all (don't choose artifacts from your own civ), which ain't difficult if you dig plenty up. The works from the free artist can...

    Barracks

I would normally hold off on building a barracks until I can get an armory in the same city, because I want cover promotions on my meat shields when I've moving in on an enemy city. Cuts down on the losses somewhat. Definitely want naval units being built with XP. The sooner you can get to...

Digging a hidden arch. site still causes a diplomacy hit

Your archaeologists digging in their territory is generally a huge giveaway. I do think there should be a system for taking them diplomatically though. Maybe trade for an agreement to operate archaeologists within their borders on a "per site" basis.

    Brazil start bias

Just go liberty for the +1h in dense jungle and try and found cities on hills. Once you start clearing jungles for the gems/plantation luxuries, the hammers on the plains underneath make production less of a problem. Pyramids (easy to get) and the worker SP Will making clearing jungle on rivers...

    Chichen Itza on Immortal

Forget it. AI gets to civil service by turn 80 usually, so there's almost no chance you will ever get CS before them AND get it built, even if you have completed liberty and have a GE to rush. It's been a waste of time trying it since BNW.

    Brazil start bias

I does happen a lot, and I generally just restart if there's no jungle nearby. I've had Rio spawned smack bang in the middle of a desert  I now restart any time the start bias for the civ I have is way off. Games just aren't fun when you can't leverage your uniques, IMO.

Any threads on how to even play this game?

It's got to the point now where I can't tell if you are trolling or not. Why don't you do yourself a favour and uninstall like you threatened to previously. Personally, I feel you are beyond help, because all you really seem to want to do is complain about the game not being the way you want it...

Any threads on how to even play this game?

Go onto youtube and watch one of the "let's play civ BNW" videos from start to finish to see how other people play. There's pleny of information on these forums about how to play, but for some reason you just don't see to want to adopt any of it.

    Honor Open

If you plan on filling out one of the other trees, it will cost an extra 130 culture to fill it in the same time you would have if you hand't opened with honor, and that's if you only have one city. If you think you can farm that many barbs then it might be worth it. There's the extra bonus of...

Is there any point in choosing anything other than tradition when starting off?

I'm not sure what difference that makes with regards to the science penalty making settling new cities sub optimal. It's 5% regardless of difficulty level, no? Can you explain?

Is there any point in choosing anything other than tradition when starting off?

That's nonsense really. It only becomes sub optimal to settle new cities when they won't reach a point where they can create enough beakers to overcome the penalty. Even then, it's only sub optimal from a science perspective. With the right circumtances, each new city might be putting out 4...
