    OCC challenge

I think the issue is any challenge at this level probably won't be fun, for you at least. I think this was roughly as hard as always war but that is also a huge grind

    OCC challenge

I did like those so maybe we could do more. The main issue is pitching at a level enough people will want to try. This one is very very hard. It is probably about as hard as always war and similarly takes forever.

    OCC challenge

Ok so yes it is possible however I'm not sure it is always possible. A lot of things can go wrong and you don't have a great deal of control over lots of it. the AI seem better at conquering on epic and snowballs even harder. The bonuses from conquering scale up so they had absurd amounts of...

[Vote] (7-36) Promise Not to Attack Applies to Both Parties (Troops Near Border)

Yeah I think the AI already follows this. When they ask you it is a pretty good indication they aren't planning on attacking you. I don't think I've ever seen them declare war within ten turns of asking you.

    OCC challenge

Yeah I guess the difference is I'm playing Netherlands so I can build it right away without having to wait for culture. After playing a bit more I don't think you need it but it or great library do help a lot. Feel like you need at least one force limit wonder but there are three of them. In...

    OCC challenge

So after playing a bit, the main issue is bonus yields are increased from speed and the AI has an awful lot of them. so you need a lot of your own, Like Milae said Sankore is very important. I think you do really want Terra Cotta too, otherwise your army is just tiny. It doesn't seem too hard...

    OCC challenge

I'd be amazed if it made it truly impossible, I've played lots of deity games with probably harsher restrictions. I have no clue what effect epic speed has so I'm going to give it a try and see. Egypt seems reasonable for early war with a good UU, similar with Assyria, as you can really abuse...

    OCC challenge

I did in on normal speed, no clue if it is easier or harder on epic. Culture seems impossible, you just can't generate enough with one city and you need to be faster than them. Diplomatic was a long way off for me but might be possible if you really focus. AI conquering CS is a big issue...

    What's the best play here

You can certainly restart if you feel that it will be a less enjoyable game. An isolated start is certainly very different. Said said I think it is literally impossible to generate a start that is impossible to win with. Authority bullying the CS multiple time then seeing what else is around...

    Late Game War Tedium Discussion

I am impressed this is something that is more of a slog than always war :)

When do you consider the game won?

When I'm level in tech with the AI. I do still play it out after that sometimes, but I've never lost once I get to that point.

Request: SETTINGS for a peaceful game.

I think all peaceful civs is probably simplest, it won't 100% prevent it but it mostly will. Good city spacing might leads to no wars ever.

    Winning peacefully on higher difficulties

To be fair nothing has really changed. Peaceful play is still harder but still possible. I don't think it is possible to have setting where winning is impossible.

    Vox Populi Congress Proposal Workshop

yeah agree with this progress is the worst at making settlers. When i did runs I didn't find the trees that far apart by mid game but tradition was starting to fall off them so being equal probably means tradition is worse.

    Vox Populi Congress Proposal Workshop

I think tradition is more limited on cities because of low production. Authority and progress can pound out every building and get happiness under control while it is much hard for tradition. On a side note what do people think about changing +2 pop to +x food where x is enough to go from 4 to...
