    Your player rank

I'm 1st in 1552 and won 773 and 254 before. This time I might get the Mona Lisa (792 fame, 6 eras to go, got Hollywood).

How do these people do so well so quickly???

It works when the enemies are pushover, so you can care only for about yourself, or it works when the enemy is equal, then you fully have to concentrate on your civ. But everywhere between, there's a conflict which shouldn't be.

How do these people do so well so quickly???

I think it's very bad design that there is a conflict between winning with your civ and winning altogether. Teamplay isn't really supported by the score system. If you do helpful stuff like adding 2k beakers to a tech, you are not rewarded at all, it's MVP or nothing. That means, you have to...

    [Guide] Resource Gathering (beta)

Did you try moving the 2 houses away and back? Sometimes pathways are broken and this resets them. That can also make a difference for farmers, because sometimes, their routes are not optimal and you can increase your total gain by placing them in the right order. If you add a farmer somewhere...

    [Guide] Resource Gathering (beta)

I think you should add a paragraph about dowries. Once you have maxed your producers, that's a steady stream of income, because everybody marries you! I think a lot of players don't really know about that feature. Would be icing on a nice cake! :)

    TMIT's Guide to Speed Civving

I experienced the problems with mis-selecting getting worse the longer the client runs and the UI-lag starts to get tedious. I'm not too sure if the function is bugged or of the wrong actions are triggered because the mouse cursor lags (which is surely annoying when selecting cities). Either...

    TMIT's Guide to Speed Civving

If you enable "tile yields" (or whatever it's called, I play german), you can see which tiles are worked and which not. The worked ones have larger icons for toasts, hammers and coins. This way, you don't have to check inside the cities - doesn't help too much for overlapping cities, though.

    Top 3 Leaders to play

Charlemange Brennus Ashoka Versatile leaders who can adapt to everything, i'm always glad when i get one of those. I play random civ and shuffle or fractal maps, so versatility counts most.

    Solver's Unofficial BtS Patch

I found something, maybe for Blake, don't know: I played a Monarch game and found out, Louis is going for a cultural win. I was able to capture one of his 3 culture cities and hoped to prevent it this way, but i was wrong. He had a replacement city with 26k culture and started to push this one...

    automated workers

I regularly win on Prince with automated workers and cities, before i paused for over a year, i always beat monarch (and never bothered too much with emperor). Back in C3C-days, emperor was np (but you could reverse the diff with gpt-deals, so that doesn't really count). I could play 5-10%...

    automated workers

Your core cities usually provide a large part of your income, so there's no real reason not to automate your workers (or at least a part) after setting them up. They can't do too much wrong afterwards anyways. Telling people to do everything by hand is simply crap, that's ok to squeeze out the...

Basic Build Order - Advise Needed

I usually do Worker - Warrior - Warrior - Settler - Worker - Barracks+Units/Wonder/2nd settler (depends on neighborhood) I change a little bit here and there, but that's the basic concept. The worker can improve 2-3 tiles (usually the ressouces) and then move onwards to the 2nd city. When you...

    The INSANE Walkthrough

After some matches of BtS (only at Prince because i paused Civ4 for over a year and never bothered too much for micromanagement) i found that the basic strategy still works. The cav-beeline however is less effective, but i already posted in the 1st game that i rather attack with maces and...

    cottage spaming for a dummy

One cottage per town should be enough, preferably on a spot where you can't irrigate anyways. :)
