Sometimes a city will have an unimproved tile that has 1food and 2hammers (or 3food, or 3 hammers) that your city can work. A tile like that will speed along the production of a worker.

When I play to win by any means, I use slavery, police state, theocracy and I war for 90% of ~6000 years of gametime. When I play to satisfy my personal ideologies I can only win through culture. History's a brutal thing.

I'll keep playing Civ4 until I beat deity, I die, or I get tired of failing. I feel like I'm getting better, so I'm not about to quit... but I've yet to win a prince difficulty game, so I imagine I'm a ways off from ending my civ4 journey.

Naw, I thought that the act of building an improvement on a tile would auto-clear the jungle... like it does for farms, cottages, mines..... Do you have to manually clear the jungle for plantations and wineries too?
