    [BTS] G-Minor 262 - Justinian, Prince, Culture - Deadline Nov 29th 2021

I submitted quite a few games, but my best was only 1398 AD. I typically went for 3 commerce cities (so 6 total), but often was missing one essential ingredient. Either I would miss marble or stone (less critically), or 1 or 2 of my culture cities wouldn't have enough food and or hammers to...

    [BTS] G-Major 179 - Egypt, Deity, Conquest - Deadline Jan 25th 2022

The title states Darius, but the Civ states Egypt. I would assume Egypt is correct, but can you please clarify and correct? Thanks.

Civ IV HOF Update Discussion Thread

Hi Noble Zarkon, I'm a bit confused regarding my games. I played all three of my games (2 with Arabia and one with the Vikings) with the beta mod (3.19.005_beta2). However, I'm not sure why my Vikings game showed up in the main HOF and Quattromasters, but the Arabian games did not. I did see...

    G-Major 140

@Denniz, That's all right. My submissions were ancient starts. I tried a couple classical starts, but gave up shortly after being overrun by raging barbarian axemen before being able to establish an army. I tried a bunch of religious games instead, which I found quite enjoyable.

    Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Hello, can an admin or moderator help me recover my previous account or transfer my previous information to this account? I first joined CFC in 2008 and would rather not have to restart from scratch. I've tried using a couple different methods last week and haven't received any emails. Please...

    G-Major 140

Was the starting era meant to be Classical? Also, the leader on this thread says Brennus, but the page here mentions Boudica. I had submitted a couple games that I thought would count for this Gauntlet and was disappointed when they didn't.

    G-Major 111

Ramesses is definitely a great leader for this match. I played inland sea, 10 opponents. I did an early rush on Asoka (closest rival and founder of Buddhism). I had my capital as a commerce city, my second legendary city built every wonder possible, the third was my GPFarm. I had been perfecting...

    G-Minor 155

I've put in three entries so far, two with Gandhi, Oasis, facing Lincoln, Mansa, and Frederick, and Liz, Mansa, Wang Kon, and Frederick. I got finish dates of 1832 AD and 1760 AD, respectively. Then I tried a game with Liz on Lakes, facing Mansa, Gandhi, and Lincoln. I finished that in 1655 AD...

Does a Medieval War make sense?

The key to medieval warfare is using trebs and knights effectively. I promote my trebs in two different ways. I'll promote probably a third of them (somewhere between 5-8 would probably be sufficient) and promote them to bombard. The rest of them I'll promote along the city raider line. This...

    Civ5 Wishlist

I think it would work quite easily. You could make any tech available to research at the start, unless of course a tech required a prerequisite tech. Players would be kept from researching Fission right at the start because of its tremendous cost. Therefore, research would likely progress along...

    1 Unit per Tile Rule

I think having only one unit per tile would ruing gameplay and be very unrealistic. A much better option, in my opinion, would be to have the military come from your population. Therefore, this would naturally limit SOD's, since any military unit is a unit that is not producing something for...

    best upgrades for archers/longbows?

It's only knights that are immune.

    best upgrades for archers/longbows?

Drill is good if you want to upgrade them, but it is useless against knights since knights are immune to first strikes. However, I doubt you will ever face an AI that uses a stack of knights large enough to pose a serious threat to drill promoted LB's.

Golden Ages - When and why?

I would probably start the GA as soon as I got the Great Person, if I had no other use for him, unless you're trying for a space race win, when you would want the extra hammers at the end of the game. It's definitely a tough call, but one other thing you should consider is that they give +100% GPP.
