The build recommendation/AI city governor seems to disproportionately prefer Clock Tower as a choice, despite it not having any impact on the city due to none of the buildings being there already. Maybe speaks to an error in the evaluation systems of 'buildings giving bonuses to other buildings'?
@tedhebert what do you think? I've been resisting it buying it so far after reading that the AI isn't aggressive and doesn't try to conquer its neighbors... is that true?
Oh but it is, from your OP - you're accusing modders in general supposedly of not figuring out how to make the AI use the things they added in Realism Invictus. FFH is entirely pertinent to that topic as it's evidence to the contrary.
On the other hand, this forum isn't for Realism Invictus...
In FFH (I recommend MNAI-U currently) the AI does use its mage abilities. They cleverly chose either use the things the AI could, or provide it the ability to do so properly.
Massive necro but worth it, I came here through google looking for information on how to set default custom settings, and have since figured it out myself.
With a map script if you search the text of the options it gives you (e.g. for Totestra search "Everyone on same landmass") - you can then...
I'm enjoying MNAI on standard size Totestra with an extra 3 AIs (for 10 factions total), all on same landmass, allow pangeas, low sea level and no tech trading. Monarch difficulty. E: I've since added all unique features, advanced tactics and no minimum AI level requirements.
I think it gives...
I have found that the AI sometimes fails to thrive. It's turn 260 and one AI left alone in a corner of the map is stuck around 600pts, only building warriors and struggling to push out against the barbarians. Would a bump up to Monarch help?
Having played a couple of games of HW through (and starting a far greater number!), then gone back to Civ4 (with AdvCiv) - I do think this mod is absolutely great. The civics, religion tenets, use of combat mechanics (retreating particularly) feels like this is how Civ4 should be.
I have a few...
In case the maintenance of the mod resumes (I hope it does, it's great) - is there a general bug tracking thread? I notice that the 'route to' logic behaves like wetlands are roadable but then doesn't want to move into them due to them costing 3 presumably.
I'm on the fence between holding off for a Steam release and buying now on Epic.
Mainly:
I want all my games in one place.
I don't agree with the way the CCP has virtual direct control over Chinese companies or their employees...
Thanks
E: Ignore below - it seems like the bug is that they can be automated just fine if Spring is their only spell. It breaks when they learn anything else!
E2: Also - currently playing as Illians - the automated Adept with Sping only decided to cast the world spell Statis... thanks Adept...
First off thank you for continuing the mod! I'm always on the hunt for a good AI challenge and it's shocking to me that the free market is failing to provide this!
Would expect the below could be fixed in the next release :) - took me a shameful amount of time to figure out from the somewhat...
