    Heavy Jungle Starts

The thing that annoys me about V jungles is that chopping them converts them into plains instead of grasslands like in IV. In IV jungle areas made these initially bad cities that became the best after you finally developed them. V jungles really just feel like paint-by-numbers tiles-- jungle...

UA vs UA Babylon vs Sweden

Great Scientists are the best great people (especially in the early game) regardless of victory condition. Artists/Engineers only begin to surpass them in the mid-to-late game if you're going culture.

    Pointless Denouncing on Turn 17

If you start next to Alex, he WILL do this. I don't think his AI is actually capable of not doing it. The weird thing is I've had him take a couple of my cities and become my best friend for the rest of the game.

When do you decide which victory condition to go for?

I play the map first, and then the civ.

Increasing the stakes when AI demands tribute from your CS

I disagree. You shouldn't actually gain influence for saying "You Will Pay for This", because you've effectively done nothing to protect them. The benefit of saying You Will Pay for This is to KEEP the influence rather than losing it. You are not entitled to getting influence over a city-state...

    Gods and kings community verdict

The fact that you actually think running it at the highest science level you could afford is always optimal just shows that you have no idea how the commerce system worked. Oh, and in Civ IV spamming units for defense was hardly necessary (at least in the early game). Your first buffer was...

Increasing the stakes when AI demands tribute from your CS

Obviously you should be forced to choose between revoking protection (and lose influence over the city-state) or declaring war (blocking the tribute and you don't get a "warmonger" diplo penalty with other civs, since you're protecting the CS) All of you people who actually want to able to...

Gifted special units and civilization abilities.

Possibly Longbowmen gifted to America? With America's +1 sight on land units, you wouldn't even need melee units up front to provide sight for longbowmen. You could just move in with longbowmen and do tons of damage to civs who can't even see your Longbowman I'd imagine.

    Question about civilizations/traits

The start biases aren't as specific as you think. If I recall correctly, these are all of them: Coastal/ocean start bias: England, Ottomans, Polynesia, Spain, Denmark, Carthage, (possibly the Netherlands? not sure) Forest: Iroquois, Celts Jungle: Aztec, Maya Tundra: Russia Avoid Jungles...

Increasing the stakes when AI demands tribute from your CS

Does anyone know if this actually applies to the option to Declare War in the diplomacy screen when you confront someone you caught spying on you? It would be nice if the other civs acknowledged your opponent's repeated offenses which escalated to war.

    AI does crazy tech beelines?

The AI seems to prioritize certain techs significantly over others. Writing, which I can see from all of the early Embassy proposals. Civil Service, the AI seems to want to get Pikemen up ASAP, plus Civil Service's food bonus makes it one of the key economic techs in the game. Banking (?)...

what is your highest difficulty level in g&k

I'm not sure which I'd say is harder overall (V is harder for me so far), but IV definitely has a lot more stuff you have to learn and 'get' than V does. Doesn't necessarily make it harder than V, just takes more effort to learn at first I guess.

    CN Tower

The CN Tower is actually completely useless because it comes too late to make a difference. In Civ IV the broadcast tower in every city wonder was The Eiffel Tower, and you got it at Radio. It could be a very nice wonder for those rare cases when you went for a Modern culture win rather than...

Should there be a RELIGIOUS victory?

I couldn't take it seriously as a post-medieval victory. No one in modern times or even during the renaissance is going to drop everything to attack this one religiously significant cities, except for certain fanatics in the middle east. Even then I don't see how this could possibly work...
