One thing that bugs me about China...

but do they teach spelling? I am sorry. I really tried to resist, but little errors like this is what will eventually mangle the language. Really, just be a bit more cautious with your spellings, ya? ---- On topic, China has had too many capitals over the eras that picking any...

    What's the skinny on Musketmen?

+1. This is also true to my experience, especially during early rush with warriors. The units that used up the promotion usually ended up as local garrison.

Does anyone else get bored of domination victory?

The next turn? it takes 10 turns for the UN to vote. Or you talking about a pre-patch game?

    Tempted to buy Civ5

If you want to play MP, wait until they fix the MP before buying. As far as gameplay goes, it is not bad, now that all the major bugs have been weeded out.

    Civ4 or Civ5?

My point was allowing stacking in an 1upt environ is game breaking, wit your own example below: Then it became a competition of who has more interceptors and/or better promoted aircraft, and we're back to stack combat again, rendering the whole 1upt land unit design irrelevant. That's what I...

    'Ninja' Diplomatic Wins

haven't thought of that, but it's true! Would be funny to find an A.I. with ten of thousands of gold to go 0 in a turn.

    'Ninja' Diplomatic Wins

Oh, I know of this problem well. but be careful of what you ask for. I think this problem has a simple fix, but at high difficulty, the AI's inherent bonus couple with the simple mechanism of the CS made it impossible for the player to win a peaceful competition if the AI really utilises all...

    What's the skinny on Musketmen?

iirc, both musketman and longswords have the strength of 16. The only time I ever build musketman is for Janissary or musketeer. That and if I have no iron, which sometimes happen when I play cultural. Basically muskets function like a longsword that doesn't need iron but slightly more...

    Civ4 or Civ5?

I didn't say bombers and aircraft are gamebreaking. I said the exception to be able to stack them (indefinitely) is game breaking. Fighter sweeps can't take city for you. Any land units that try to get close, even the antiair units, will be killed before they are within striking range with...

    Civ4 or Civ5?

I remembered going up to 4, but beyond that, I can't confirmed.

    Odd error

Then I am quite sure it's a bug. You can email your savegame to the dev and see if they can find out what's wrong. Usually default focus will fill the specialist slot way before that all the tiles are worked.

    Civ4 or Civ5?

Are you insinuating that I don't play enough late game CivV combat to hold this discussion with you? Pray tell, which part of my reasoning is inconsistent with your late game experience? By themselves they aren't game breakers, but if you can stack them without limit, they can break a game...

    Civ4 or Civ5?

You know what, I actually agrees with you. The 1upt is the only feature in Civ5 that is controversial. Anything that's controversial is good. But I don't think I can say the same for the rest of Civ5 feature. Which kind of make the game a 1-trick pony. Well, I firmly have that in mind when I...

    Civ4 or Civ5?

Well, that's sort of my point, and Thormodr's as well, if I understand her correctly. the original rationale of having 1upt was so that we can avoid infinite military power in one tile, so WHY break the rule for aircraft? The aircraft doesn't need stacking to have a strategic value. It's...

    Civ4 or Civ5?

Actually, no. Gameplay wise, even if you can only have one aircraft per city, it is still considerably more useful than the artillery. The reason the developers break the 1upt rules for aircraft is because aircraft simply doesn't "make sense" with 1upt. it just boggles the mind, and the...
