I don't think 'unpolished' is the right term. It's unpolished, but it's pretty fun. It's way more similar to civ v than civ v was to civ iv.
I liked IV better than V for sure. I like VI a lot; better than V although it definitely could use a patch.I actually never ventured above emperor lol even then it was very difficult for me. I usually play around king or so. =D
I wonder if there are ppl who LOVE civ iv exclusively that enjoy civ 6?

If you were a very competitive civ5 player who mostly played on immortal/deity and used to abusing AI weakness - then it'll be too easy for you right now.
If you were more of a roleplayer/builder/experimenter go get it. It's amazing, even now.
Waiting for the first major patch in a few weeks might be a good compromise, I guess. They'll probably fix the worst annoyances rather quickly.

It's basically the same with every version: the game gets significantly better with time. At release some features are missing, the AI is struggling, there are bugs and awkward things. At the same time - the game is new and feels new. That's fun. I have played 3 full games so far and had a blast. I probably will stop playing it in a couple of weeks and wait for a big patch or DLC or something like that - but until then I will have weill a lot of hours of fun with it, and more fun when the game gets better.
So it's up to how much you get annoyed by the problems the game has now...
Here's how I see it. It's not perfect, but it's fun. You can have fun with it now, then when the fixes come, you can appreciate how much better it is, even though it was already good. The AI does have odd moments, but it also has moments of genius. It will never be perfect. Waiting for that is futility in any 4X game.Just curious, I decided to wait to get Civ 6, I'm wondering based on your impressions...should I continue to wait for updates and fixes or should I get it now? I was afraid the bugs and unbalances would make the experience not as enjoyable.
BE didn't go on sale once during the first year, despite being so poorly received. So you'll hopefully get two out of three of those goals (tho AI isn't going to be improved beyond where it ever was...)Personally I'm waiting 3 months, I want the Aztecs and maybe some patches to fix the AI will pop in the meantime. Also, price drop perhaps.
