Interesting problem. It sounded similar to the problem I was having with MathCAD 13.1, but downloading the SDK and the Parser seemed to solve the problem. Sorry, not sure what else to suggest myself.:confused:

Did you install MSXML 4.0 with SP2 and Parser? I think the file is MSXML4 SP2 SDK and Parser or something like that.

Yup, Cossacks upgrade to armoured cars along with the horse archers. The Cataphracts upgrade to tanks.

They're both pretty much the same except with a few extras, nothing that affect the way in which the game is played.

When playing the demo of Rise of Legends, I found it's control system and engine to be quite different from Rise of Nations. I wouldn't feel it important to first master RON as the games are a little different from each other. But Rise of Nations is certainly a great game to master anyway!

Before you start playing the game, on the screen where you select your nations, player numbers, map style, etc you can select the team number from a drop down list. If you set your game type to Custom Diplomacy, you can have unbalanced teams and stuff.

You could always try adding the same command into the shortcut line as for SC4 and the Sims, see if that works. I always thought there was a box you could check to run RON in a window, but I might be thinking of a different game.

Nothing wrong with missile shields when you have them and no other nation does. Then you can enjoying sending nukes out to people within the comfort of your own defences!:D But if the enemy get hold of them, it's annoying. But I always have the last four techs available because I need to...

Does changing "run" in the shortcut command (right clicking on icon and selecting properties) get it in a window? You can have normal window, minimised and maximised. Just wondering whether any of those will get it to run in a window. Other than that, I put up with games being stretched. Got...

What type of game are you playing? Are you in an ordinary single player random map or are you doing a CTW map?

Yeah, I have seen that before. If I invade the states and I've taken some of their land, they'll fire some nukes here and then also back at my homeland. Possibly about a 20/80 split; more nukes come home to Russia than to the territory I pinched from the Americans.

I always try to make sure that I have loads more nukes than the Americans before I nuke them. It usually involves the painful process of giving up a few so long as they do, getting loads of money, buying back more nukes, defeating the Americans when they try to invade me. Then I invade them...

Yeah, but isn't it a good thing that no Soviet territory was harmed? I usually end up with the central Siberian part getting nuked, and some parts of Eastern Europe. But they stay a long way from my capital!

So, is there a way that you can launch as many nukes as you like without causing Armageddon? A cheat or a parameter you can set?

Sadly it's nothing flashy, like people mutating and cool stuff like that. You just get a little message about nuclear armageddon killing everyone. I guess it implies radiation contamination.... but the imagination can still work wonders with this kind of thing!!!:D

Basically, if you launch too many nukes, you reach Armageddon. I guess it's because you've released so much nuclear radiation into the atmosphere that everyone dies from radiation poisoning!!!:nuke: :goodjob:

You can have a game with no nukes in it, therefore it is possible to end up with Armageddon! But armageddon is fun! I always end up causing it by accident! :nuke: :goodjob:
