That was me posting that reply. I asked one of their helpers and all they did was send me a list of supported games where Civ IV was on not on there. Could it be some port settings? Maybe that's why I can't connect because I don't have ports open on my router. Maybe I'll try that first..
Then I have to be doing something wrong. I've tried to connect directly through the game and also through Gamespy Arcade. X-Fire has the same problem when I try and join and it acts as though it doesn't find the server. I see others are connecting fine and I really haven't had an answer yet...
I did that and it won't find a server either. I'm starting to wonder if my router is blocking something, but Windows firewall allows Civ4. I'm getting disgruntled..;)
I can't find the damned lobby, and found out Gamespy doesn't support Civ4 anymore. Someone suggested I edit the .ini file and haven't done that yet. But if anyone can find some group where we can do a DirectIP connect that would be great since I've found it virtually impossible to connect...
Yes, it's me again. Can anyone provide a link where I can play multiplayer games (other than Gamespy) or get involved in any? That would be great. Like a live lobby or something for DirectIP play?
Thanks for the link, I'll see what I can do later when I get home from work.
I'm surprised there isn't a link for this either, considering Civ IV (I use vanilla) isn't even on their game list of supported games. Why would that be? When the server goes down do they take the game off of their...
That's interesting, because it isn't even on their list of supported games. Not only is it not working for Gamespy, it also can't find a server for X-Fire. You'd think since it was "Game of the Year 2005" and "Gamespy Game of the Year" they'd be in a hurry to fix it instead of continuing to...
The router and firewall are already bypassed to allow this. Not only that, I tried it in X-Fire, and at least X-Fire recognized it as an installed game, but still didn't have any servers! I did click multiplayer-Internet, and when I attempt to type in my password, it lags for a second and then...
I believe it is vanilla Civ4, but then again, I see all of the other games on their "supported list" that their helpers gave me and Civ4 with or without expansions wasn't on the list at all! It's odd, considering they still support Civ2 multiplayer. Can someone help me find a multiplayer game...
Well, after posting my first thread and doing some research and finally getting a hold of a live person on Gamespy who can help, it turns out they no longer support Civilization 4. Which means, there are no other multiplayer servers (that I know of) that support Civilization 4.
Is there...
No, this has been happening since I purchased it, and the "final build" was included in the install (the most recent patch) so I doubt it's a patch issue. Basically, Gamespy doesn't support Civ4 multiplayer anymore which is why I can't find the server most likely. Are there any other ways of...
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, and it's still the same thing. It times out on the login screen and doesn't connect to anything. I then checked Gamespy Arcade and there are no rooms for Civilization IV. How does one go about playing multiplayer? (I guess people are sick of answering...
I saw that there was a thread for this already, but I'm going to post again nonetheless since there are millions on the Internet who can help me.
Right out of the box, I wanted to play Civ4 multiplayer, and of course, it can't find a server on Gamespy or anywhere else where I can play with...
