    Ask a games programmer, again

Was going to bump my old thread from OT, can't find it. Console games programmer. Here is our BAFTA: I went home early that night and didn't do an all nighter ;) Here is some Germans enjoying that game, I hope they don't swear, in German, when they are playing it: 20z-_xYgk-s...

    Mathman! Mathman!

This is the non-serious maths thread. We have one in Sci/Tech and one in the old OT, opened by my friend and colleague IdiotsOpposite. I DON'T want a maths thread in SRSBZNS OT, so here is your place to discuss anything mathematical. Obvious spammers (e.g why is 1+1 = 2?????, why is 0.999...

    So, the Tories (UK politics)

Bad week for them. Pay £250,000 (per year!) to have a discussion with "Groovy" Dave Cameron (who used to trash restaurants and hand over wads of cash, but doesn't like anti-social behaviour, except when he wants to hug a hoodie). Don't panic! But fill up your Gerry Cans (but not in the...

    Let's discuss computer programming

Hopefully this is the appropriate place for this thread, otherwise move it to sci/tech, KTHX. The learning programming thread has started some discussion about object oriented programming, but I'm fine with talking about procedural programming, and even functional programming (a bit ;))...

    RIP Frank Carson

It's the way he tells 'em! It's a cracker! One of my friends saw him in a lift, he did say "It's a cracker!" as the door closed.

Eurozone 2: Desanimado en el gob

So the previous Eurozone PBEM has reached 1000AD already, so I'm going to start the sequel. You must be in the eurozone timezone to play, we have a really fast turnaround (usually a turn a day now there are 5 players left!). I'm going to go hemispheres or maybe ice age or global highlands...

    Happy birthday Muhammad

Not even a thread in the sports section ;) He's so famous he transcends sport though. A thread started by a Brit ;) Dudes, where is your respect for (probably) the greatest sportsman of all time. :bday: Legend LxLokrATgIw EDIT: Looks like I spelt Muhammad wrong, oops ;)

I'll have an RIP please, Bob

RIP Bob Holness, most famous for being the host of UK quiz Blockbusters. He was also the 2nd man to play the role of James Bond in a radio play. EDIT: Contrary to the popular urban myth, he did not play the saxophone on Gerry Rafferty's hit "Baker Street".

Iain Duncan Smith says role models don't work hard

And cause riots!!! http://www.metro.co.uk/news/884457-iain-duncan-smith-x-factor-culture-fuelled-uk-riots Including premier league footballers. I don't remember Iain Duncan Smith ever being picked to play for a Premier League team, maybe he hasn't worked hard enough.

    Gary Speed has died

RIP, current manager of Wales and former Everton player. Probably most famous for playing for Newcastle though? Not much news about it so far, just been announced.

    August babies - disadvantaged?

So the academic research in the UK goes. They are nearly a year behind their peers in the same academic year (in the UK). I don't think it did me much harm though - and I share my birthday with other notable underachievers Tank Girl and Barack Obama. I DID suck at sport though.

    Ask an agnostic

I got the 1000th post in the "ask an atheist" thread! I feel this is a sign from God I should open the next thread, even though I am an agnostic. I just can't see any evidence for a supernatural being. I admit the possibility isn't impossible though (just very, very unlikely).

    Tories bananas? Splits

Looks like around 70 tories have ruled themselves out of being considered for a job by voting for a referendum about leaving Europe, despite being warned they would be sacked, ineligible for jobs and/or severely bummed in the gob if they vote for the referendum plan. :goodjob: Is this a return...

How to fix the Greek economy

I pondered this for a while, but finally came up with the solution. Maybe they should do the washing up at the end of a meal instead of smashing all those plates.

    Ask a games programmer

Since there was a thread about new "Ask a" threads. Small company, underpaid, oversexed. Can't talk about current games under non-disclosure. Can't talk about specific companies who produce the games for us, I'd get angry then. I mainly do tools coding (getting assets from art into...

Prof. David Starkey comes out as massive racist

Breaking news on BBC Radio 5 live. I googled him, looks like he has form. Basically he was saying Enoch Powell was right, apart from all the thugs are white chavs into black culture. Looks like his knighthood is on hold then. Scumbag. * Please note: ParadigmShifter thread, pls no...

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/economics/8658197/Vince-Cable-launches-attack-on-right-wing-nutters-over-US-debt-deal.html First he attacks Rupert Murdoch (but got removed from overseeing News Internationals now withdrawn bid for BSkyB because of it), now he attacks nutters in the US...

    Too posh to push!

Victoria Beckham AKA Posh Spice has a daughter via Caesarean section! Will she show the talent of her father (good dead ball footballer) or her mother (good at pointing enigmatically)? I don't think they have announced a name yet, it's bound to be a silly one though I reckon.

News of the World accused of hacking murdered schoolgirls phone

More evidence that the News of the World (Sunday's version of the Sun) and its owner Rupert Murdoch is the spawn of Satan: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-14017661 This is just the latest in a line of phone hacking scandals. If it turns out to be true, despicable.
