BTS Crashing on startup - Steam

I just loaded Steam and BtS on a HP Pro 6300 desktop PC running Windows 7.1 Pro. Everything has been updated. When I go to launch BtS it starts the init process, etc, the graphics resolution changes but then it stops and goes back to the Steam page - as if it erorr'd out somewhere. I'm able to...

    Arrow keys on laptop?

I have a new Macbook Pro laptop that doesn't have up/down/left/right arrow keys. Is there a way to substitute other keys for these so I can easily move my characters around?

    I'm dying here...

Ok, I need help badly. A few months ago I found nirvana by being able to use Steam so I could finally play Civ4 BTS on my Mac without having to go into BootCamp. Everything has been great since then. The game runs super fast. I love it.....except.... I WANT MY MODS!!!! I can't stand not...

Orion's Home School: Winning at Noble

I had tried F4 but it doesn't work. That was where my confusion came from. Would you expand on the glance screen. I'm not sure what you mean. Thanks.

Orion's Home School: Winning at Noble

What suggestions do you have for keeping track of relations so that when a civ asks you to stop trading with someone else you know which answer to give? Because they are modal boxes I can't get any adviser screens to open up. Is there a trick to this?

Orion's Home School: Winning at Noble

OK. Where do I see how many more turns it will last - after coming back to the city view one or more turns after I whipped?

What is the best way to set options?

I wasn't clear. I meant the global options from the game menu. For example, I always use stack attack but reading a great thread on how to win on Noble I could see that the author didn't use stack attack. He chose individual units to fight others ones specifically. Also, I have show freindly...

What is the best way to set options?

Please include a list (or screen shots) of your options and explain why you choose a non-default option. For example: Show Friendly Moves. I'd like to know why different options might be better suited for different games. Thanks.

    Weird observation - pastures

That's kind of the purpose of a pasture. To harness a resource. So sheep are the resource and they aren't free to roam at will anymore.

    Civ4 in Windows Virtual Machines

I've been running BTS in BootCamp on my iMac 2.0 GHz IntelMac with 2 GB RAM and an ATI with 256 MB, and it works great with any sizes up to huge. At huge I start to get random freezes in the late middle stages of games. But it's all good because I rarely play huge size worlds anyways. As far as...

    Need help making the jump

Namlia, Can you explain in greater details how to determine which tiles need which improvements and when is the best time to start improving? This is an area in my game that is sorely lacking. Screen shots would be helpful. Thanks.

    Early vs Late Civ

That sums it up right there. Late in the game I go and dedicate a city to mass producing units and every time it finishes I have to have it do something. I'd just like to be able to auto stack it along with all the others and then move them en masse. And not have to get re-directed back to that...

    Early vs Late Civ

When I play BTS I really enjoy the early stages of my civilizations a lot more than the later ones. I like the exploration, the way that founding new techs brings big rewards (e.g.Oracle). I also like the wide open spaces and the ability to settle areas and build out swaths. I usually play...
