So it seems like every civilization that's ever gotten big is getting made into a custom civ nowadays. While that is good to see, it does raise a big issue when it comes to city states, because there's probably only so many times you can substitute a civ whenever you promote a city-state to...
I'm getting into Civ again, with the wonderful stuff Civ 5 has to offer. I am particularly interested in the emerging field of leaderheads and new Civilizations for the game. However, since this field is in its infancy and has few resources going into it, and also given the fact that Civ V has...
Since I somebody made a city list maker for me. I'd like a Python module that creates CIV4DiplomacyInfos files.
What I want is something that I can write down names of leaders, for example:
to get these added to to the CIV4DiplomacyInfos files, so that they all have their diplomacy slots...
All right. I've stated modding Civ4 and would like to make some city lists for some of my civs. However, the internet program that made city lists is gone, and even then, it wasn't meant for Beyond the Sword, which doesn't have gender tags.
I want a program that can turn this city list...
So, I've made a small mod in Civ4... everything runs fine until I run it in Spanish. The words are in the right place in the XML, but I the genders get switched around, so I get stuff like "Contactar con Ragnar del Nación Vikinga" or "el pueblo alemana".
Does anybody know why this happens?
I'm not talking about Napoleon and Elizabeth, where the language is obvious. I'm talking about people from civs that don't really exist anymore, like Nebuchadnezzar and Askia. And what about Hiawatha? His people spoke like five languages, which one does he speak.
Also, is it true that Darius...
So while I ponder whether I'm getting Civ 5 or not, I'm trying to look at other people's worlds (in Stories and Let's Plays and stuff) and turning their maps into AUTOrealm Atlases... They should look really cool now that we have civs with irregular borders, city-states, and puppet states!
So...
So I decided to make a thread to make plans for those civs that Firaxis won't be making any time soon. We can make beta versions of those civs, and then can improve them as we learn, for example, to export leaderheads into Civ.
I'll put in some of my suggestions. Feel free to comment on them...
Now that apparently CivV has one leader per civ, it's time to decide who should be the leader of new civs with rabid fanbases.
For example, when we inevitably add Hungary, who should lead them? My vote goes to Lajos Kossuth.
For Israel, I nominate David.
Here's a theory I have... if Civ V leaderheads can be made with Blender, what if we could skeleton swap the Civ IV leadeheads into the Civ V leaderheads' torsos?
If the leaderheads in Civ5 were to be made with Blender... wouldn't we be able to take Civ 4 leaderheads, skeleton swap them, and place their torsos over their pants?
That way we wouldn't have to be forced to have those crappy reskins to add new leaders.
When I play Civ in Spanish, the adjective never inflect correctly. For example, Hammurabi's XML goes like this.
<Spanish>¡No habrá paz hasta que la cabeza del último soldado [CT_CIV_ADJ:1] esté clavada en una pica [OUR_CIV_ADJ:2]!</Spanish>
In game, however, it comes out like this...
Seeing this mod, I decided to make some Klingon Select/Order sounds. Anybody who knows the language better than me can tell me what I did wrong.
Order 000- "qaneHbogh net."
Order 001- "Ha'!"
Order 002- "bej."
Order 003- "vIta'lI'."
Order 004- "qay'be'."
Order 005- "rIn 'e' DaHarlaHneS"...
Ever notice that Charlemagne looks a lot like Burger King? Well, in this mod, the normal civilizations are replaced with fast food civilizations!
Civ List (suggestions and additions are welcome):
McDonald's (led by Ronald McDonald)
Burger King (led by the King)
Wendy's (led by Wendy...
You know how the Olympic Committee has country codes for every country? Well, here are my country codes for Civ. A lot of them are based on the names of the countries in their own language. I think they look cooler.
AZT (Aztecs)
ARB (Arabia)
BAB (Babylon)
BHA (India [Bharat])
BTR...
I decided to get started making leaderheads, but I'm getting an error message. Says for the script to work I need a Niflib Python SWIG wrapper, niflib.py, and _niflib.dll. Has this happened to anyone?
The idea behind these thread is based on the idea that an ancient Great Artist looks like Shakespeare and the modern incarnation looks like Elvis. I'd like to extend it to individual civs. For example, instead of Elvis, how about a moptopped Beatle for England? How about a Mark Twain unit for...
I'm thinking of making a Central American civ (Guatemala, El Salvdor, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama), and putting Somoza as the leader. However, I don't know which of the three it should be? What do you guys think?
