But wouldn't that make the groupings of grassland/plains/desert tiles taller as well? For instance, the non-desert rim you tend to find around continents would widen out when it becomes horizontal and thinner when it goes vertical-ish.

Solution: The Globe in Civ V, a really spherical map with only hexagonal tiles!

Okay, but the pentagon tiles are still going to be more strategically valuable, since any unit or city on a pentagon tile has one less potential weak point.

Well for starters, the title "Pious" should be replaced with "Pharaoh." After all, what better way to show your nation is the center of religious enlightenment than by being ruled by a king whose subjects honestly considered him to be a mortal god?

    Rationalism or Peity?

Now here's the thing: If the effects of Piety's social policies left lasting effects on your empire that could be taken advantage of by the Rationalism tree, then that would be a much better design. For instance, religious buildings increase the amount of culture a city generates, and by...

I once made a thread to create a collaborative effort to redesign the tech tree. It didn't take.

[FIXED] Corruption and Waste in Civ5? Incorrect food calculation for different tiles

There is no corruption or waste in Civ V. Based on the screenshot you provided, the only explanation for that is that you've encountered a glitch. If you're running any mods, could you list them out? If you're not, then attach a save file so someone can analyze it.
