I'm interested in what people's responses are regarding the fact that warmongering AIs don't stop trying to war you until you utterly destroy them. How is it fair, in that case, if you're painted a warmongerer if another AI constantly wars you and you have no choice but to suffer war wariness...
Okay.. so I tried connecting my cities with forest/ jungle tiles but it said I did not have any established trade routes, and yes, I made sure that all of those tiles had culture on them.
My only idea of why this wouldn't work would be because one or several tiles had a forest/ jungle AND...
Wait, wait, wait... so razing gives you PERMANENT unhappiness?? That's lame... I've had the impression that it was the only option with all of the complaining on this site about conquering cities and merely invading for the sake of resources.
I'm guessing you don't go for AUTOCRACY then, even...
1) So let's say I wanted to kill everybody with military. Should I just destroy all cities except for the capital and focus on building my own cities when it's convenient? Or are captured cities worth it?
2) Is building a big empire a viable strategy? I want to exploit the "Order" Social...
Oh. I forgot to respond to your posts. You are right in that it would be a problem for military fortresses. Even with gold, I can't imagine how it could be edited so you could buy them into production without Workers. (or roads)
But NOBODY is SAYING they want that! And employing your citizens to tiles IS micromanagement, it's just that replacing workers with this would shift most of the micro-management into city micro-management...
I'm not saying it should be more like CivRev, that improvements should be removed entirely, or that improvements/ roads should only be built with gold/ have no control over where it's built.
I'm just say'n I think it's easily possible to simply replace the concept of Worker Units with...
One thing I liked in CivRev was that you could purchase roads to connect to other cities.
I'm not saying there shouldn't be improvements, but I think it would be better if you could build improvements on tiles from the city screen.
It already does this if the improvements are pillaged...
I still don't think anyone knows the answer to my question. Will the AI be aggressively militaristic if you turn off Conquest victory or at least all victories? I tried but I couldn't tell a difference, then again my game keeps crashing...
Love all this talk about America's "time to decline". Take Germany for example after WWI... All American needs to adopt is protectionist economy and China gets screwed over. It's all it takes, but the leaders in power prefer we "distribute the wealth" across the world.
What if you turn off all win conditions, especially Conquest? Would that mean the AI wouldn't be as hostile or warmongering because there's no "win condition" for them to "play to win" for?
