The map is hugely important in Civ6, and that isn’t a good for balance. For me, the amount of Civ6 games which are too hard or too easy vastly outnumber the amount of games at a comfortable difficulty.
I expect there to be patches that fix exploits.

probably not going to replace Civ 6, but it's interesting to see 2K throw money at this instead of lifting a finger to fix Civ 5.
@mods:
move to appropriate forum.
why is there a diplomatic victory if all you have to do is spam end turn for 5 hours?
on deity, the AI will do nothing to prevent me getting city states
at the end, several opponents are sitting there with 20,000 gold while I win with 2 soldiers and the remaining city states as my ally...
In the 2010 version of Civ V, I recall a wide spectrum of playstyles. Basically everything between a few cities and a ton of cities was not only possible, but also competitive (i.e. you could beat very good opponents following any of the options)
To spell it out the original Civ 5 let you...
I haven't played since 2010
It seems the game was more strategic back then. There was a broad spectrum of ways to grow your civ
The social policies made vertical growth powerful
The nature of the game and happiness system made horizontal growth powerful
And you could do anything in...
Can a mod access the ENTIRE knowable game state?
Can it force the AI to make exact moves based on arbitrary custom logic (i.e. intelligence)?
Does this logic have to be written in a specific language?
Will the expansion affect these things?
culture does not continue to accumulate after the limit has been reached when the option is checked
in single player mode it does
what's the point of the option if it doesn't work ?
This was the only thing that made the game somewhat balanced... The customization option only lets you save enough culture for 1 policy.
So Steam automatically downloaded this update that ruined the game... and I can't find a way to go back
i.e. you have a size 1 city doing 4 research, but it's 1 turn away from growing
Your tech progress is 16/21
the UI will say 2 turns left, but it'll actually be 1 since your city grows, does 5 research, then the research gets added, and you'll get the tech in 1 turn instead of 2
same...
the UI says 2 turns left for something (production/research), and it finishes in 1 turn instead...
in civ3 your city would grow, then work a new tile, and then contribute to whatever it was building
in civ4 your city would contribute to whatever it was building and then grow.
it seems...
the only way to guarantee against elimination is to maintain a standing army. how big does that army need to be? well it depends how powerful your neighbors are.
right now all you have to go on is demographics and quantity of spare strategic resources which tell you very little in a game with...
how can I see all the deals my team has made with the enemy? if some players quit and AI's start making open borders with each others where does it show up?
makes playing an always war team game kind of hard when some ppl drop out and the AIs negotiate for peace....
When i look for games do I see every game that anyone in the world is hosting?
i know the multiplayer won't be too popular, but I was expecting a few more players...
one set of civilizations is fighting another one and trying to capture a city. This will take several turns due to stackless combat. (this happens quite frequently)
culture grows extremely slowly + melee units move 2 tiles = you can hang around on the border of the city that's about to fall...
