Got a question on the advanced settings you can select when creating a new game, Im kind of a Civ noob, played 4 but not a huge amount. How do the different variables such as world age, climate, etc effect the game? I could not find this information in the manual.

Being conquered/liberated does not clear a city-state's permanent war??? Bummer.. I have a maritime city state thats in permawar with a Civ I don't feel like fighting and I was hoping that this would work Someone should mod out permawar ASAP, it's stupid.
