To install this on the Steam version of the game, go to the steam folder ".../steams/steamapps/common/Sid Meier's Civilization IV Beyond the Sword/Beyond the sword/". In there create a copy of any file and rename it to civilization4.exe
now launch the Blue marble installer and lead him to this...
Hmm, I was not taking notes of all my steps so I am not 100% sure but it should be something like this.
1) Install Vox Populi (No EUI)
2) Delete the "(2) Community Balance Overhaul" folder
3) Delete the following line from "City-State Diplomacy Mod (CSD) for Brave New World (v 27).modinfo"...
That's the non-DLL version though, it doesn't have all the features and it's a bit old I think.
Anyway, after some fiddling with the XML and LUA files I managed to make the Vox Populi version of CSD work together with the Community Patch, Civ4 Diplomacy Features and More Luxuries. So basically...
It would be really great if the VP installer had the option of installing CP, CSD and C4DF without installing CPB.
CBP is great and all but it's a complete overhaul, it's not for everyone.
Meh. Civ6 has been out for 9 months already. At this speed it will take many years to become a good game.
As of today it's a boring 4x game with a frustrating user interface, questionable game design choices and a bad combat AI.
Combat AI is still bad. I launched a new game and China and Egypt declared an early joint war against me but they only sent 1-2 warriors and then sued for peace. Then in the classical era I built a small army (2 swordsmen, 2 archers, 2 horseman,1 battering ram) and attacked China, easily taking...
According to Steam I have played 58 hours and the last time I played was November 18th. I have no desire to play the game at the moment, so yeah you could say I have quit. The game has very cool ideas but in its current state is a mess. AI is bad, UI is terrible, diplomacy is broken, game...
Civ6 has good graphics but it's an unfinished game: AI, UI and game balance have serious issues. There are some good game design ideas, but they are currently crippled by a poor/unfinished implementation. Finally the game is not polished, there are hundreds of small issues that are a cause of...
I have been playing Civ games since Civ1 on the Amiga 500.
What are my thoughts on Civ6 ? Well I have few concerns (graphics, UI, AI) but overall it looks promising so far.
Not pre-ordering. I am going to wait for more info and reviews on the full game.
I am especially interested in AI and MP, the 2 big weaknesses of Civ5.
Indeed it seems that there is little advantage.
The only one that I can think of is if you have a veteran unit with many promotions those 10 HP extra could help him survive a battle and reduce the risk of losing a precious unit.
