Yours is a Civ2 ToT unit. Cut it out, shrink it and paste it into the original frame. That pink and violet colour is transparent, so its shape doesn't really matter. Save the unit file as bmp - 256 colours.
Nah... I'm through with Civ2. Maybe there are other who still want to push Civ2 to its limits.
I've just created like three things: the working Star Trek mod fir TOT, the obviously flawed StarCon2 scenario and that of Heroes of Might and Magic 2 (together with Blake who keeps it still...
Oh, hi. Well, a very long time has passed and it could be that there were some problems due to the limitations of MGE and especially the event files. I remember writing the plot into the event files being a mind-blow f**k!
I play-tested it only in parts, never touched it again or played it...
Oh man, so much time has passed! I don't have any of the HoMM2 files anymore. As soon as it was finished I sent Blake everything and deleted it.
Blake must be the only person in the world to have access to that mod.
:)
Great, than we're cool
Well, I was part of the funny Civ1mod crew, so I guess that hipster and spammer stuff referred to me as well and that hurt. Feels like not being accepted or welcomed any more, even though I'm actually really easy to get on with.
Calming down sounds cool. Please don't...
I'm no hipster, no spammer either, and it still matters to me - and that's the only thing that actually counts, mister.
I admit that nowadays TOT surpasses MGE. But it's actually not the version or game I used to play. I gave TOT a chance back then and felt superduper-f**ked. The same happened...
Hey, there's only one thing you still could do that came to my mind! There are a lot of unused slots, right? What about leaving the existing ones completely to the barbarians and painting their frames red to make them look more aggressive? We could just copy the civs' units into the empty slots...
True, but then I'm a limited guy overall, too. I guess that's why such a comfort zone suits me fine.
No offense, I appreciate that you have been into TOT for more than two decades. But we all weren't, it's as easy as that. We have just started returning to Civ2 for some fun. I've personally...
It wouldn't actually be that much work, that's were Curt ist absolutely right. It's only about the units' backgrounds, a bit of copy & paste in the text files, plus setting flags for unique units. No big deal, but still a waste as nobody would really play a Civ1mod for Civ2 over and over again...
Yeah, we know it and was suggested two or three times before. But TOT ist so... well, it's TOT! Let me put it like that: TOT is the cold-hearted, stone-faced twin sister of the girl you're really secretly in love with.
There were some techs that triggered text boxes and pictures: gunpowder, explosives, rairoad, too, if I'm not mistaken. Maybe a handful more.
Explosives would be cool if you don't use the unit in the engineer's slot. You could have some unique picture there.
Edit: Oh boy, this German...
Remember that you probably have to slow down research, because there are less techs in the tech trees. That can be done in the rules.txt file, too, If I'm not mistaken.
