With all parameter set to be equal, only 3 EU countries get higher position than USA, who rank 8, all major EU countries get lower scores than USA.
I'm maybe paid like what in USA would be around $90k, like top 25% salary and I've no idea how people making that amount or more should struggle, assuming living alone and having normal expenditure, living in an average cost of living area. Reading various places it seems like a bunch of people...
I'm from Sweden and not sure USA ever was a particular great country compared to its peers and the idea it was in some sort of golden age after ww2 seems untrue. Sure real wage growth maybe looked atleast on paper better than it do today for USA (but that perhaps don't really tell that much)...
I recently got a job as a software developer in Sweden and maybe have an income/compensation that put me in top 25% in my country just on starting salary + bonus while getting 6 weeks vacation, free drinks and coffe at work and such without having demanding work conditions and will probably have...
I don't think the recon units work well in the game, they are treated as rather weak combat units with access to some special promotions, in fact much of their recon abilities depend on those promotions rather than being inherent. Even the idea that recon units are combat units don't make much...
No matter if it is economy, technology and military, US seems to ridiculous dominant.
For economy, per person US economy is far more productive than any serious competitor to it: https://data.worldbank.org/indicator/NY.GDP.PCAP.KD?locations=US-CN-IN-EU
This mean US economy is very large even...
https://data.worldbank.org/indicator/NY.GDP.PCAP.KD?locations=US-EU
As you can see, US have a real gdp per capita +50% higher than EU and while there are some countries in EU that have higher GDP per capita than US, most have low or much lower GDP per capita.
Entertainment complex and industrial hubs are similar in that their first building is pretty terrible while the rest of their buildings are much better but are quite far in the future, also their later buildings have area effects.
Industrial hubs do have atleast potential for some good...
I don't see many people actually use farms beyond getting the eurkas and insperation and often more or less ignoring city growth. So is farms actually Worth the builder charge past the eurkas and insperations?
In reality economy is not based around having massive amount of small cities with a campus to drive science, like who would have access to a campus tied to a small populated village anyway?
Many large cities tend to have much higher gdp per capita than national average which indicated that each...
I use World bank numbers here: https://data.worldbank.org/indicator/NY.GDP.PCAP.KD
Real mean that you adjust for inflation, otherwise it is called nominal and that do make a big difference for certain countries.
First we can start with US, which is not European but represent a large country...
How do the production bonuses from cards and governments interact with each other? Like if you have 10% from amenties and +50% from card, would it be 60% or 1.1*1.5? Also do fascism production bonus apply to all units, even civilian units?
I find bonus resources not to be particular good, like only +1 yield and the improvements are seldom all that great like quarry vs mine, also by harvesting you get the resources now which mean quicker snowballing, so in what case would you improve the bonus resource rather than harvest it?
There are alot of options and each provide some sort of benefit so which ones do you like the most to use?
Tier 1:
I think I like Classical republic the most as two economy cards give a significant boost and if needed to you can switch over to oligarchy without any issue. Autocracy however...
We know from the Scotland stream that eurkas have been nerfed to now complete only 40% of the technology. You can get an additional +10% from a golden age pick so if you can get into a golden age it may be a good idea to hold off on your eurkas or insperations if you plan to use one of those...
Wont dark ages and golden ages increase in importance as the game progress?
Theoretically late game will have cities with huge population and that in turn mean population loyalty become much larger source in the late game than in the early game.
Ages only seems to affect population loyalty but...
Looking at Quill youtube video. In classical era machinery (medieval era tech) cost 360. When he reach medieval era the same tech cost 300.
So tech rushing one era ahead will have a cost increase of looks like 20% and likely even bigger penalties the futher ahead the tech is from your era...
Do you have any good examples on fictional characters that managed to defy the odds and managed to achive alot more than you would expect given their background, abilities, etc. On similar remarks do you have example on characters that achived less than would be expected with their background...
Here you can give examples on characters (any medium) that in some way is ridiculous when everything else is considered.
Having lately played Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic I think it is fair to say that Mission Vao could be considered atleast bit ridiculous:
If you have several good cities for cottages would you build academies in these instead of bulbing with your great scientists?
Bulb give more direct boost but academies boost research of whatever tech you choose research which allow for more control which may be more important.
