I like that the game makes railroads super difficult and time consuming to build. Mirrors the real history of that technology a bit.
I never knew about them increasing trade value. I'll have to play around with that and see if they don't seem like a better investment.
Man I love that they rushed Civ 6 out as quickly as possible... double love that Mac dropped at the same time as PC... but c'mon man.
Straight up broken UU's is pretty ridiculous lol. I just figured I was doing something wrong.
Yes, someone did post this- I wonder if they will weigh in and...
I played England and never captured a single unit with a Sea Dog.
I would hit the target a few times with range, then finish them off with Sea Dog (like one would do in Civ 5) and not a single one ever flipped over to me...
Yeah, maybe I'll try an America game with some self-imposed rule like no building new combat units after Flight other than flight units? (Then again, I'll probably have used a small, highly promoted army to conquer at least my entire continent by then, so it may not be any different than any...
I did a play through as Arabia taking the UU for a spin and had a great time. (Beeline Mamluks, medieval conquering spree.)
Any other ideas for focusing on a particularly fun UU? Maybe something like USA, rushing (?) to air power and strafing the world in Mustang fire?
Thanks!

Yeah even taking a coastal city or two can set back the AI significantly. Also, pay attention to areas that would make for a good "colony." For example, does he had three cities on the "wrong" side of a mountain range from his capital? That's your new colony. Focus on great merchants and you can...
Sure, as Rome. Usually in a situation where I'm "claiming" land or blocking strategic passes. A roman fort situated in a mountain pass is a nice barrier to an expansionist AI.
I like the wonders that are harder to get in your capital simply because you need certain combos: Great Zimbabwe in particular seems easier for me to get when i have the cattle required.
No fail cash means going for a wonder is a VERY risky proposition. Especially when you're looking at 30...
On Immortal/Deity, do players ever lead with anything but commercial? After my first few playthroughs where I built campus (ugh) or holy site (enjoy missing out on a prophet) simply because they were available first, I settled into always going commercial as my first district. I haven't found...
Something has to give. It's kinda lame right now.
I came up with a fixed progression idea the other day. E.g. Medieval fires at 800 AD for everyone regardless of how many techs each Civ has. Medieval techs are now 100% their normal cost. Techs from the previous era are now 30% their cost for...
As alluded to in other threads, science victory is now really "production victory." Work Ethic is therefore a fantastic choice for a science player.
Tithe isn't nearly as good as civ5 tithe because there's so much more money to be made with a commercial focus and the related policy cards. I...
