Bugs me when I'm trying to make a fair trade, and when I hit "what do you think" or whatever, they just decide to tack on all the stuff in my inventory that the AI is willing to pay 0 moneys for.... you know, they'll be like "sounds fair but I want your 5 iron and open borders and your horses...
Would love to see additional content for civ 5 with ideas new to the Civ franchise, which tie in to the current themes.
Stuff like:
- Pilgrimage: allows some civs to send pop from outer cities to Holy city / either create troops from them or a portion reside there without unhappiness for x...
So - clearly this isn't true. I was playing around late-game a couple weeks ago and found that I could do a conversion then holy site; then I tested it at the beginning of the next game but I was clearly drunk at the time, I don't know why I thought it worked.
Picking on the weak works remarkably well; in the early game, denounce any civ that goes after a city-state; usually someone else will DoW them; then you can DoW them also and wait it out until you get free money.
The whole thing about "missionaries or Great Prophets?" is pretty silly... the answer is always Great Prophets. When you spawn a Great Prophet you can do 3 conversions then bring it back to home and pop a 'holy site' with it, allowing you to gain tons of faith and a new Great Prophet a few turns...
Often if you're in the lead of a game, you can DoW civs on another continent and just wait it out; they eventually will sue for peace and give you a bunch of free gold and luxuries. The key is to take somebody out in the early game so you're on top in military/points.
Pretty much win all the time on King; winning about 50% of the time on Emperor. I haven't tried any higher yet. I play random but I re-reroll turn 1 a bunch of times until I get a starting location that I like. If I were forced to play whatever I was given, I think I'd probably lose at King half...
Long time lurker, decided to create an account after 2-3 years. I only ever play Civ against the computer, always wanted to play against friends but don't know anybody that is interested in spending an entire day playing one game. Probably too old now to do that anyways.
Currently playing Civ...
