I ussually settle 3 - 4 cities because it seems to give me the most science and stuff . Unless im playing venice, then i go around buying everything until im a total runaway and by the end i nuke everybody.

It seems like they can become a powerhouse later game with the order thing that the AI does. Beacuse of increased happiness they can acctually counter the order spam. Just make sure to only have 1 - 3 cities. The mughal fort is also quite cool with its added tourism.

I find that tourism is quite fun and can be very useful at times. I can for example set up theming bonuses early on and use my amazing culture to wipe out civs with other ideologies. Could wish there was some sort of culture bonus for theming.

what about venice? You can just use internal trade routes to earn amazing food to end up with 52 pop like i did.

I have an idea! What if we just beeline writing early on to get other techs that we need quicker, this is also useful because if we already have writing we can build libraries early therfore we can build the NC quickly without haing to slow expansion down. Just make sure you have enough...

Looked at your thread and tried it. didnt work. I found a different way. I had previously deleted and reinstalled alll things in steam exept steam.exe and steamapps. After this my civ didnt work. So i retrieved the old files from the bin and now it works.:)

Taking the old files from steam from your paper bin seems to help with singleplayer.

Germany is pathetic after BNW. Why not play the zulu? They have 50% less uppkeep and 25% cheaper promotions vs. 25% less uppkeep and a situatinoal random chance to steal barbs.
