If you watch Maddjinn's LPs, you will see that the AI is able to do all the things that you need to do in a civ game. The AI is able to expand and place cities in reasonably good locations. The AI is able to build useful buildings including wonders. The AI is able to improve tiles. The AI is...
No game can ever be perfect on release. But that is ok because thanks to the internet, games can be patched very quickly with a simple automatic download. I am sure BE will have a couple patches that will fix balance issues and improve the AI. Don't panic!
Think of satellites as being in geostationary orbits. That is why they seem to hover over the same spot. Works for me! I admit the model is not perfect but considering that the turns represent 1 year, I think this is a case of gameplay needing to trump realism. From a gameplay perspective, the...
I am happy that CivBE will focus more on wide and growth rather than just tall. I thought it was silly in BNW that the best strategy was to only build 4 cities.
I think that is very harsh and unfair. "junk" implies no value whatsoever. I think thousands of gamers will find plenty of value in CivBE even if they never play MP. There is certainly a lot to give value to CivBE from the new affinities, the quests, the building choices, the tech web, and the...
Note the PAC has completed the Beacon on turn 209 and is close to winning a Contact victory. So the AI can definitely win the game pretty quickly on Apollo if you let them.
Oh, I definitely agree. AI's that spam colonists in the human player's territory deserve to get conquered. I just had to LOL when both you and Brasilia invaded at the same time. The Slavic Fed did not stand a chance and went down fast!
Since units are cheaper to build before they upgrade and affinity upgrades are free, is it a good strategy to try to build the biggest army you can afford in the early game, before the upgrades, and then not build more units but just upgrade your military as you level up in affinity?
Well, but flood plains were OP in actual history. After all, it was flood plains along the Nile that made Ancient Egypt into a super power. And it was flood plains along the Euphrates that allowed the first civilizations such as the Assyrians and Babylonians to prosper. Flood plains made it...
Maddjinn did click on the mindflower before he launched his attack and it said the mindflower was 24 turns away from transcendence. So if Maddjinn had left Elodie alone, she was at most 24 turns away from winning the game.
Yes. Additionally, since roads and magrails are free, you can spam them as much as you want to give your units extra movement everywhere through your empire. Especially with magrails, you will be able to move your units crazy fast from one end to another of your empire.
Pete did have the bad luck of landing near a very wild alien area that prevented his expansion. But I also think that Pete did not handle things correctly. He wasted a lot of turns trying to get his second city to the other side of the wild area when he should have gone east instead and landed...
I don't know if we saw that before but the supremacy choice at the end of the "occupational hazard" quest is +1 supremacy level and +25% production in every city. That last one is huge! :wow:
