I feel bad ending civ 6 on a negative note - I have lots of complaints about its feature bloat, its AI being unable to play the game correctly, etc.
...But I still put about 3500 hours into it (so far!). So I clearly must like it. lol
You know what you must do... settle nearby and canal them out!
actually I don't think they'd be able to use your canal... well, you can use it to murder them I guess
Does Julius Caeser's "gold on conquering a city" effect apply:
1 - when you get a city in a peace deal?
2 - when a city loyalty flips to you?
3- when you use that great merchant who "buys" a city state into your empire?
It's a balance issue of "how long does it take to make stuff" vs "how fast are you zooming through the cultural/science trees". IMO civ 5 had it right. In civ 6, it feels like it takes forever to make anything... by the time I make my districts, the game's practically over. I feel like I never...

I liberate city states where possible, but I pretty much only liberate other civ's lands if it's lategame and I can't be bothered to administrate them and I only took the cities to spite a third party.
If we're going for states, what do I put, the state where I lived form birth until 29 (NY), or from 29 until current (31... MD)? I feel like both are part of my soul. Well actually not really tbh, MD's just for a job. Sorry crab people.
I realize I made this thread ages ago but the question came up in my head again so I decided to test it out by using ingame editor... yes you do get tourism from other religion's faith purchased buildings, IF you changed your religion back to the sacred sites one. i.e. I got 6 tourism from 3...
The district system + loyalty system are some of my favorite parts of Civ VI, tbh. My main complaints are
1: Everything just costs way too much to produce, so I always feel like I only get to develop my cities about 25% as much as I plan to
2: AI bad
3: Games last too long and get boring after...
