Didn't see a thread on this yet (no doubt one will be posted as I type this), but Civ V is free-to-play for this weekend on Steam. While I doubt there are many people on the board who haven't bought the game yet, for those few, now is the time to try it out.

Civilization V appears to be the weekend deal on Steam starting today (in the US at least; can't vouch for anyplace else). $12.50 for the game, $15 for the deluxe version. Unfortunately, the DLC doesn't seem to be on sale this time around. A pity, since I've been trying to hold out on buying...

Go into your CivIII diectory, then go to the "Text" folder and look at "Play the World.txt" Not really useful, but it's presence may mean we get MP in a patch. I'd be just as happy with it as an add-on, though. :)

What Civilization do you usually play as, and what do you name your capital/principle city? I usually either play as the Romans, or name my "custom" civ the "Michaellians." My capital is always Michaellia, unless I'm playing as the Americans, then I just let the computer name all my cities...
