Okay, it's now Friday - Where are the mod tools?

Well, that's a nice surprise. I stand corrected.

Okay, it's now Friday - Where are the mod tools?

Um ... where did you get that from? All statements from official sources I've seen where in the multiple (as in more than two) months range. (Sorry.)

Worrying review: Tom Chick says AI and Diplomacy are dumb. Has "Serious Problems"

QFT. ;) At the same time, I would be hard pressed to come up with an example of a game of comparable complexity with better AI. (Maybe GalCiv 2? Not sure, didn't play it enough.)

Anyone know the maximum size map possible?

In Civ4, the default size for "huge" was 128x80 tiles. Terra maps were bigger, 152x96 tiles on huge, IIRC.

    Goodbye Civ3 :(

If you pre-order Civ5 from D2D, they will throw in a copy of Civ3 for free. :)

    As if Direct2Drive's offer wasn't already tempting enough, here's a 10$ promo

You can imagine my surprise when I was able to preorder the game (from Germany) using the "schoolsucks" coupon for 39.95 USD (and no sales tax! Yay!) :D

Of course, but making them your friends seems more beneficial in general: 1 civ = 1 vote 1 civ + 1 conquered city state (assuming that it ceases to exist) = 1 vote 1 civ + 1 allied city state = 2 votes (!)

Well, I have to admit that I mainly thought about "self-replicating" resources (i.e. animals, plants, ...). But ... oil well yields adhere to an bell-shaped curve. So, yes, for some time you'll see an increase while you extract the oil. Now, at least in Civ4, natural resources don't deplete...

From the wording of I'd guess they do. A puppet is still a civ, isn't it? Also, seems that you'll really want to get those city states on your side!

Here's another idea how to explain the varying number of horses: Perhaps a horse resource starts with one, maybe two horses. When you build a pasture, the number of available horses starts to increase slowly (similar to the way cottages grew over time in Civ4).

Google Fight: Civ 4 vs. Civ 3

You need to put quotes around your search terms if they contain one or more spaces. Else you'll get unpredictable results.
