[BTS] News: BOTM 267 - Sitting Bull, Emperor - Starts 5 Feb

I also like NW option, and, like @antimony, because I consider building GLH in it. What is the hub map script? I am not familiar with this one

[BTS] News: BOTM 265: Genghis Khan, Monarch - Final spoiler (submitted or quitted)

According to this, it is halved under AW. You can also destroy the AI completely - ironically, it help to get rid of war weariness. In my game Monty built The Statue of Zeus, and yeah, it was painful to conquer him.

[BTS] News: BOTM 265: Genghis Khan, Monarch - Final spoiler (submitted or quitted)

Thanks for the map. That was one of the most interesting games I played lately! Really liked the setup – we start isolated in the center of the map, so we could start rather safely, and we have plenty of options for where we strike later. I also like rich maps, like this one. With such an...

[BTS] News: BOTM 265: Ghenghis, Monarch - first spoiler to 1AD

One thing I forgot to mention. Why can't I 1-pop whip settler in 55/100 city? Must be something with rounding error, but I don't see where

[BTS] News: BOTM 265: Ghenghis, Monarch - first spoiler to 1AD

Last time I tried GOTM, I died in the first 30 turns in the always peace game. So why not try always war after that - shouldn't be too hard, right? I settled SE of W corn cause I wanted at least some hills at capital. I decided to REX as fast as I could; I rarely play IMP, so didn't...

    Most important technology? (Industrial Era)

Assembly line, Steel, Biology. The hardest choice so far - Communism, Railroad and SciMethod also were in my short list.

    Most important technology? (Classical Era)

Voted for Math and Currency. Both are needed in 95% of games, unlike all the other techs, which are situational. Surprisingly, I'm tho only one who voted for math. It opens up four tier-A techs, so it usually needs to be researched sooner than later in both peacerful or military games. Also...

    Most important technology? (Ancient Era)

I voted for Bronze Working, The Wheel and Pottery, but BW is really miles ahead. I would try a mod, where slavery and chopping were in different techs, so you had to choose which one you should research first. I think it would make an early game desicions more interesting. Slavery could go to...

[BTS] News: BOTM 259 Results and Congratulations

Thanks for the map, congrats to @Bemep42 . I could get 300k+ (and silver) if I triggered domination at T200 (more of less) instead of going for space, but 413k is way much more than I could get. Impressive! Will check out, why I am so much behind.

[BTS] ]BOTM 261: Queen Victoria, Immortal - Final Spoiler - Game Submitted

The plan was mostly clear on T110, but I wanted to use FIN and Colossus, so I decided not to attack with medieval units. Instead, I chose to attack all of my opponents with drafted muskets and cannons, so my aim was to research nationalism, theology, chemistry and liberalism + steel before...

[BTS] BOTM 261: Queen Victoria, Immortal - First Spoiler - 1AD

I've tried the worker-settler approach, and I have to say it is so much better. I still settled 2nd city 3N of marble. I chopped WB instantly, so I had to go for Agri->BW->Sailing. Whipped GLH on T66. Compared to "grow on warriors to size 3, then settler" settler first is better on all fronts...

[BTS] News: BOTM 262: Saladin, Prince - starts November 15

I will check NW with warrior. If there is fish I will probably settle N-NW on the plains hill. Otherwise I'll SIP. How many turns does Agri-AH take on Prince? Working riverside grassland might be an okay idea. This start is tricky. It is a distraction. Might be worth it for the Espionage...

[BTS] BOTM 261: Queen Victoria, Immortal - First Spoiler - 1AD

That's probably what happened. Could it be that Shaka started to plot early? So he built big army instead of settlers and crippled himself. I think, that's the reason why Napoleon is so backwards in my game. As someone who missed GLH I have to ask - when did you finish it? Could be worse. I...

[BTS] BOTM 261: Queen Victoria, Immortal - First Spoiler - 1AD

Yeah, this is smart. The idea of building a settler on size 1 didn't come to mind. I will replay start after submission to see, how it plays out. In fact, I believe I could have built it by T65 if I played more carefully - I will check this out too. I didn't use sandbox - maybe I should have...

[BTS] BOTM 261: Queen Victoria, Immortal - First Spoiler - 1AD

That's really unusual, I must say. In my game Shaka founded 9 cities. He even managed to colonize Inca's home island. I don't like working nonFIN coast. Usually I prefer to whip a worker and work better tiles - if you have ones of course. This map is very tight on tiles though.

[BTS] BOTM 261: Queen Victoria, Immortal - First Spoiler - 1AD

Settled on the marble. Second city went 3N, near fish, chopped WB and started to build GLH. The capital got both golds online rather quickly and then built Settler-Worker-Settler-Oracle-Library-Settler x5. Got MC from Oracle on T55. But I missed GLH - Bismark completed it on T67 (1320 BC) - 3...

[BTS] BOTM 260: Asoka, Noble - Final Spoiler - Game submitted

Won by conquest T138 Right before I was going to declare on boudica Zara peacevassaled to me:D.This really sped up my conquest. Attacked Boudi with 13 Knights, and Sumer with about the same number. Finish date could have been 2 turns faster if I had not forgot building the road towards Mongol...

[BTS] BOTM 260: Asoka, Noble - First spoiler to 1AD

I decided to play this out real quick. Settled in place hoping for extra food, but got second gold instead. Went for Oracle -> CS, and built library in capital early, so I could get huge early research. Didn't build other wonders. I decided to go for early conquest with knights. Settled 13...

[BTS] BOTM 259: Montezuma, Emperor - Final Spoiler - Game Submitted

Landed spaceship on turn 252. I was hoping for sub 250, but I think it's still ok. Some cool moments from my game I finished the Gilgamesh conquest by T119. The biggest issue I had was the economy. So I whipped a lot and put OF into wonders. The UB really helped a lot here. This way, I was able...

    Why is my gold connected?

If you have tile that is adjacent to both rivers that means that rivers are connected. In this case the tile 3S of capital is like this.
