    Draft Questions

Me think the best use of drafting is when you conquered a foreign city. Instead of razing it, draft it to pieces, then built settler. Gives you x good defenders + a settler very quickly...

Now this is promising...(possible corruption solution)

Me think that a low number of cities is indeed the way to go... Plus ofcours luxuries. The more the better, they do great against unhappines when you have 5+ of them !

    The Iroquois: My first game

Me think you did a good job for the first game... My first game was, well, let's not talk about that ! Just two points : - expand fast... why do you need one 9-city when you can have four 3-cities instead ? - don't do full-scale attacks : it's waaaay easier to defend then to attack.

my first game. it took just a few turns.:(

lol, you really had bad luck there !!!

Do you like it? Strat. Resouce problems

the AI is much more sophisticated then before, that's the big difference... If you can't take that, well, you can always go back to Call to Power :) And I don't agree that you had more options. Giving 1 gold per turn ? Trade resources ? Give a city AND some troops ?

Funniest Thing the Computer has Said?

Joan of Arc saying "I'll show you mine if you show yours"... (this was actually my 69-est post)

    The ruthless, merciless, warmongering AI

Yep, he really is though ! They did a great job there... Who needs multiplayer with such an AI ? (just kidding, Firafax, we need multiplayer baaaad). Anyway, not only does the AI uses better war-tactics, he also uses better diplomatic tactics, like you illustarted... Very refreshing ...

Extra! Extra! Roman Colonists on route to Alpha Centauri!

Nice mail ! The re-negotation is indeed a *very* good thing, not only for getting better deals for you (more gold,...) but also for taking shared resources away when they don't have access to it... Yeah, I know, I'm evil :slay:

    Where are Turks

all that about Sweden is very true... Too bad it's so cold there :)

    Screw you, Aztecs!

The aztecs are a real pain in the butt... My advice for them : when you start near them on lower difficulty levels, destroy them. On high difficulty levels, start a new game (you can't kill them off and they waill cost waaaaay to much resources).

The best CIV III civ is.....

Guess you both are right : on lower diff levels the Americans are pretty nifty with expansive and industrial, but on higher levels, forget them ! For those games take the Babylonians for their religion and science. Too bad their special unit (the bowmen) is really crap :(

    editor

I belive that the fact that firaxis left out the powerful editing features of civ2 puts them in the position to release their game on time so that the custumers are happy and can play the game thats great yess :goodjob:

    Damned if you Dont

yes, i guess in your case the workshop does, well, wonders :) Somehow I never get 20+ lower-level units. I only build like 6-8 of them to defend my citites. And cities producing money ? In CIV3 on diety level ? Not me...

The FAST way to become GOOD!!!

So you're like that guy that played every level of pacman and then quit the game... Seemed silly to me ! Once you've beaten the game on deity with one kind of victory, try to beat it with another kind of victory. It becomes a whole different game ! And there are  5  ways to win !

    Tech Strategy

No offense, but it's hard to believe you got the tech from capturing a city. From a barb camp, yes, but from a city ?

Civ3 - DIETY WINNING, and few questions

mmm, thanks for the link (didn't knew that site) but the info is quite old :(

    Keeping up with tech

Even trading 1 science for 2 sciences is still good, because they trade all their science behind your back ! they will get that second science anyway, so why not give it to them and get something out of it ? I always have "trade turns" : one turn where I trade with everyone. That way I can...

    Hurry Production with population

Mmmm, i donno... I'd go for only 2-3 production cities, no need to have high production in 10 citites, is there ? You need science more then ever... My 2 cents : use your strategy to expand fast, then use it to rush-build the basics (granery, marketplace, temple, library,...) in every city...

    Expansion still the ticket

Nice thoughts, especially the north-south thingy. Only one comment : trade resources just for avoiding conflict ? Mmmmm, I donno. It seems to me that resources are the key to the game... So I don't want to share them with anyone, they are mine, mine, mine !!!
