    Norway and our Icelandic Mercenaries/Cannonfodder!

You Norwegians just love posting that, don't you? I know what it is without even clicking the link. But seriously, precisely the same argument could be made (and has been made) from the opposite viewpoint. By the way, they still have compulsory Danish in Icelandic and Faroese schools... So I...

    Deutsch 101

As a side note to LightSpectra: It also depends on what you're referring to when you say "the best" in English, since this has to fit a specific gender and singular/plural form when translated to German. If you are talking about several things, the subject needs to be in plural, so the above...

Guess the Map III: The Map Lover's Paradise

Notice that Antarctica is darker than most of the African countries... So it's probably not something that has to do with human influence.

    "New" movies coming in 2012

What's so bad about sequels? I haven't watched many of the prequels to the films on the list, but I have watched the Bourne films, and those are pretty good. I'm really looking forward to the next installment in that series.

    Best Country in Scandinavia

Of course I voted for my native country, Denmark. I think it's okay that Finland isn't included, but Iceland could have been, since their language is also in the Scandinavian language family (and a lot cooler than all the other Scandinavian languages!) I don't really understand all the hate...

    Are underage drinkers "criminals"?

There is no fitting poll option for me. Where I live, underage drinkers are neither criminals nor "criminals" - there ist no law that forbids people of any age to drink, only a law that forbids selling alcohol to children under 16, i.e. it's a crime for stores to sell alcohol to underage kids...

    Are dogs better than people?

That argument only holds if you assume that most murderers will go on to murder more people, which is not the case. I am quite shocked by the hatred that some people here express. Is it really so hard to believe that people can change?

    Should Sweden attack Libya?

Yeah, I get it. ;) Anyway, does it really say "Enlist now"? That kinda seems like the wrong signal to send. Shouldn't they be encouraging people to consider the situation well and make an informed choice before they decide if they want to join the military? "Enlist now" sounds like something on...

Swedish military can't even afford phones for their soldiers? No wonder that you guys prefer to stay neutral...

    Let's discuss Mathematics

So what? When you add (average expenses per employee for jan-mar) + (average expenses per employee for apr-dec), you will automatically get (average expenses per employee for jan-dec) which is the number you're looking for. There's no need to "scale" anything.

    Let's discuss Mathematics

The problem with your method is that you essentially make a yearly average of the first quarter, a yearly average of the three last quarters, and then simply average the two. This is wrong, because that makes the average of the first quarter become just as important as the average of the three...

    Let's discuss Mathematics

Yes, that's right. I just naturally assumed that there would be 721 employees for each quarter.. But the table is quite unclear. Exactly my point. The second solution you suggest would be correct if the 721 employees are a combined total for the last 3 quarters.

    Let's discuss Mathematics

    You are overcomplicating it. It's (4540/342)+(37221/721) = 64.9
