If running Warlords, is Pitboss required to be downloaded? or is it already included? If it is included then why are me and my friend having difficuly making direct IP connections? (Both our firewalls are disabled)

Will the terrain in Civ4 be effected by war and other happenings? Such as scorched earth from Civ conquests. What do u think they could do to improve this because i generally did not like the way they showed it in C3C.
