With BtS I'm returning to Civ4 from a long hiatus and one of the things that is giving me trouble is not knowing whether I am building a wonder too early/too late. Is there a chart anywhere that shows approximate dates at which the AI usually builds wonders on different difficulties/game speeds?
The problem with minimum wage is if your labor is only worth $6/hr, and minimum wage is $7/hr, you are now priced out of the job market. This makes it a lot harder for unskilled workers to get their start. The biggest problem with poverty is people not being able to get a job in the first place...
It could be overheating, or it could be something else. Go to C:\WINDOWS\Minidump and zip up the most recent .dmp file and attach it to your next post and I'll see if I can figure out what exactly is causing your crashes.
In my last game Tokugawa went on a last minute killing spree and won by Domination when I was ~20 turns from launching the spaceship. He went berserk and started launching nukes, and then steamrolled everyone with tanks and infantry. He had nice land and spent the whole game quietly building...
The Pyramids themselves weren't changed. Representation was weakened, and the Pyramids were most commonly used to get Representation MUCH earlier than normal. Now that Representation isn't as good, there is less reason for building the Pyramids.
All that would do is water down the game. Other strategies would be come even less viable. If the AI chopped rushed settlers, you would be forced to do it as well to keep up.
