This. I can win science/diplo/culture without dabbling in conquests (defence from DOW, yes, no forward action BY me). If I want to warmonger, I have to go all out, no other option, due to the penalties. I don't mind them being harsh so long as it's justifiable (in many cases it isn't though)...

So long as I have enough oil, they're on my build/buy list instantly. And, as mentioned, if you stumble across early enough, you will have plenty of oil (no other uses at the time) and be way way ahead of ruling the ocean over other competitors. They just decimate cities!

Aside from waiting for the governor to automatically choose it, you set it manually by opening up the citizen management panel, and then selecting the tile you want to work. As Oz said though, it provides no food, so the only growth tile will be your capital, unless you already have a greater...

Where did you found the city?? CiV is probably the easiest game to gather some kind food production together, I thought, seeing that even on a barren piece of land the capital tile always has something to give... Even in the middle of a desert, most of the time there are flood plains, oases, or...

I didn't hate CiV from release, I barely put up with it. Since the G&K release, and subsequent patches, as Smokey said, the game is totally night and day. I think I have doubled the amount of hours playing this game since G&K that I had prior to it's release. If you can put a few hard earned...

Game runs brilliantly! But, then I have had 2 crashes playing as Polynesia around turn 26-31... All drivers updated prior to patching... On DX9. Trying to find crashlog now... Can't say I have ever had a single crash with CiV since it's initial installation at release, but now 2 in 10 minutes...

Never play MP, but pretty sure they will need the same DLC as you. I am sure you can still play as Denmark, your friend will have only the Vanilla civs to choose from.

Has it anything to do with techs they have yet to research? Or do they use an average tech level from all civs on the current map? I have tried to gift a unit that was far beyond the units it fielded, and it never appeared...

Thought I had my GA in a nice sheltered harbour in my last game as Korea- it just so happened that it was a rather large inland lake, which at one point, only had one square of land between me and the "real" ocean. Great stuff isn't it?!
