    Earth 34 civs 124x68

This map does work in 3.19, you only need a mod compatible with 3.19 to allow for the extra civs. Load the latest version of Lt. Bob's mod ( from this thread) and you can run this map just fine.

    Civ V Civilizations Roster

I'm guessing that this lady here will be a leader of a civ too, but I can't figure out who she is. Boudica or Jeanne d'Arc maybe ? Any guesses ?

    Civilization V Announced!

Awesome, awesome news. Apart from the leaders that have been confirmed, I'm also curious about who the gorgeous lady is who is pictured on the left side on the Firaxis announcement page - here's hoping she's in the game too ! It also looks like advisors are back ( something like the CivII...

    BtS - Holy Mountain Quest

The mountain has to fall within your cultural borders, it doesn't matter whether that's inside the BFC or outside.

    Unable to build Forbidden Palace

There's an easy way to figure out why you cannot build the FP or any other (national) wonder: just mouse over the building's icon in the city screen and there will be a sentence in red saying what the building requires in order to be built.

    Attacko's Inverted "V"

In actual fact, Hannibal at Cannae positioned his center out to the front (screened by a skirmisher line), and then allowed it to fall back in the face of the Roman attack and reinforce the flanks, while his own flanks rolled up the Roman flanks and then turned around to encircle the Romans...

The King of the World Throne Room

Though I have lately played Earth34 instead of Earth18 ( so I don't know how good the comparison is), I've had good results for the Inca by opening up the Andes for them in Ecuador, so that there is a only a coastal route open to them. Since barb units don't seem to step on resource tiles unless...

King of the World #16: Julius Caesar

I'm thinking it might be worthwhile to build the Colossus before you trade away metal casting. The English cities will benefit hugely from it, particularly if you also settle a city at the northern tip of Scotland plus Ireland and Iceland. Conquering the German copper will help speed it up...

    Earth 34 Civs?

Lt. Bob's mod is just under 1 MB (it's only a zipped new .DLL after all), so you should be able to download in an acceptable amount of time even with a slow connection. I'm playing the Earth34 map right now (with some modifications) and it's well worth your trouble.

    Earth 34 Civs?

The Earth34 map will work in combination with Lt. Bob 's mod which allows for 40 civs. You can find it here.

How quick can you get tanks/modern armor?

Somehow I completely forgot to take into account that FR adds only to raw beakers, so thanks for the correction !

How quick can you get tanks/modern armor?

I'm not an expert by any means, but it seems to me that running free religion would be far superior for science than pacifism once you have a fairly big empire. With the whole continent in your hands, 10% extra science in every city should easily beat the occasional extra scientist in your...

Racist art disgraces Czech EU presidency

Stereotyping one European nation = not funny Stereotyping ALL European nations = downright hilarious Here is a PDF with sketches for all the nations with 'explanations' by the artists (which are very funny too as sendups of artistic jargon). More info here.

Dutch extremist group unleashes biological weapons on Canada

The basic reason, IIRC ( I went to school with some people with similar beliefs), is that everything that happens to you is God's will, and seeking treatment or vaccinations would therefore be to act against God's will. In the same vein, I was told by a classmate that they wouldn't seek...

    1v1 Duel

Try Gilgamesh of Sumer; the vulture does as well against the jaguars as a regular axe, but better against his archers. Creative means you get higher city defense from culture, and protective archers will be tough for jags to take down. Take care to found your cities on hills as much as possible...

Mr. Fisher and Emperor, take 2

Moving the warrior up the hill won't reveal any tiles you can't already see, so I'd suggest moving him 1NW instead. I would also consider settling 1S to be on the river for possible trade routes and an eventual levee in Delhi (didn't see the earlier posts making the same suggestion, sorry).

    Wholly Impossible (2)

Though I've had a holy mountain on a one-tile island too, in a later game I had a holy mountain on a peak just four tiles away from my capital, meaning I got to complete it for once ( without even trying though: with my state religion being AP, Sankore and Spiral Minaret religion, constructing...
