Modding the aspects of "Game Speed"

Are a lot of folks using FedFX's Mod? I'm going to give it a go with my next game: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=150408

    [MOD] FexFX--Bigger-&-Longer(v1.52.0) -=New and Improved=-

Great, those are the answers that I want to hear. In my dream mod, build/train times would be even more reduced, and research costs would be adjusted to account for the faster build times (which isn't linear given the modifiers, so it would be a daunting task), so that cities would spend most...

    [MOD] FexFX--Bigger-&-Longer(v1.52.0) -=New and Improved=-

As relating to training times and build times: My goal is to find a mod that allows me to play an epic or marathon-length game but has shorter build times. I want to produce more units, have more warfare, and have longer before those units are obsolete. Is this mod something that might work...

Modding the aspects of "Game Speed"

This thread has slowed way down...did the "marathon" speed give most people what they wanted? I'm about to start up a game on that speed.

    French Tech Tree Poster

Got mine today, the day after I sent out a complaint email. I would say "oops," but it shouldn't have taken them this damn long.

    French Tech Tree Poster

I sent out an email of complaint today. I urge others to do the same. I also urge customers to speak with their pocketbooks in the future.

Modding the aspects of "Game Speed"

I think someone earlier in the thread considered that but was unable to find out how to get the seasons thing to work right.

    Oxford University

I'd say the one ranked first, which is neither Cambridge nor Oxford.

I don't think so. The problem of an epic game mod is that it makes epic games even more epic. I'm expecting to hear something by 2007 though. :)

    Patch is on hold..

I heard going in they were going to "fix" the obnoxious pillage sound, but I don't see that mentioned here. What's the word?

Max, I'll be anxiously awaiting your fixing and testing of unit upkeep costs. Keep us posted. Did you tweak city maintenance? That seems like a lot of cities.

    Moneymoneymoneymoney... money!

Another note: Make sure you are focusing on growth the first hundred or so turns. Get the food production up to get population up, and get some cottages down to get them well on the way to towns. The production will come along later--especially with a town or two nestled inland amongst some...

-1 You have declared war on our friends... /sigh

Just don't declare peace. That's the tradeoff to exploiting the AI to give you tech in exchange for peace treaties. It seems like a good balance to me. If you want to avoid it, once you declare war on someone to conquest them, don't sign a peace treaty to cheese out a tech, but stay at war...

Why do I not get full bonus form gold tiles?

Are you overlooking a moneybag icon? That represents 5 gold, and you can see it behind any extra coins. So a moneybag behind 3 coins in a tile would mean its output is 8 commerce.

    Question about cottages

Cottages-->Towns lose one "stage" per pillage. As for how many: Ask 10 people and you'll get 9 different answers. I personally like to get a few cottages up early, especially for coastal towns as they get enough food from lighthouses, but will build farms around any city that isn't growing...

    Worst Quotes

I love the quotes, and Nimoy doesn't annoy me too much. Heck, it's only a couple of seconds every few turns. You can always just close the dialogue box and distract yourself by playing the game (a novel concept) so that you don't even pay attention to the quote. I get the idea some people are...
