@Chris : I play for fun in the first place and wont play a game with settings that look silly to me just to proof something that I know anyway. However its good that BlueRenner takes the time to do it.

I like to play a game during on day, it just feals a little odd to get into a game again after a longer brake. I think if you play a game in one session (with some short breaks) you have a better feeling for things happening.

I think AC is really not a game for beginners. With Civ4 on the other hand you can have lots of fun as a causual player also. That said start with AC if you are an expert for those kind of games otherwise play CIV4.

AIs settle very fast on higher levels so with standard amount of AI players it doesnt take too long until all good places are taken.

You can only build a Cathedral in a city who 'believes' in that religion. Since only five religions are allowed per city you can only build five Cathedrals also.

You can build only five cathedrals in one city anyway, doesnt make sense to build all those units for nothing.
