Didn't game one have a lot more submissions though? Like comparing apples with pears, no? :mischief: ;)
But still; a job well done by everyone who submitted. Especially the ones who had the guts to submit their lost game, I don't know if I would do that, my hat goes off to all you guys.
I...
Been playing a few test games, and although I'm pretty much lacking behind the AI I haven't had much problems with barbs. Last Gotm (and my test games with that map) had a LOT more barbarians. With a bit of training I think even people that only barely had a victory on last game should be able...
Uh, what exactly is so horrible about the modern music? I rarely get to that age (or at least hear the other music more often...) but the times I get there it sounds pretty good....
Financial gives the biggest advantage, but also gets a bit boring (especially once you have pretty much mastered the level you are playing on ;) ), so I rarely play with a Financial civ lately... Unless I play a level above my 'skill' (yet to have a win on monarch... ).
In a no production city that is there to bring in money they can be useful to build some improvements (banks...) before you get the rush buy option. I don't use them much for anything else.
cIV is a great game, best of the Civs (Played II & III, can't say much about I other then that I have never played it :p ).
AC however is pretty much perfect. As Gazglum said; it didn't have to conform to the 'reality of human history', and therefor gave you a much more natural and...
I believe, that if you play your cards right, that killing someone with merely a 'Cautious' is possible, due to a heavy Religious bond (among other things). So far I've only got the hate down to annoyed though...
I've learned more from the Civ games (and things that I became interested in/got introduced too) then from my high school History classes. Whoever said computer games are an utter waste of time and don't teach you anything should be shot.
(And for the record, my history classes weren't...
Personally I think they moved Civ IV a bit more towards AC, and that indeed means Conquest has become a bit different. Not sure if it is better or worse myself (need to play cIV to death before I can answer that), but certainly different, so La_Musica has a point. He liked the old way better, as...
In my last two games alone I had attacking armies of over 50 units, and those weren't even prime examples of domination games or anything... :crazyeye:
lol... But anyway:
You could, say, go for Writing directly and get (a) early Great Scientist(s). (Only helps with certain games/starting locations though.)
I can't say much about it (cant do spoilers :p), but it certainly helped me win GotM2...
