That would make them widely overpowered... having a unit at 50% str won't defend at all, it'd make them too good, it'd be like they are now but without the death that becomes of them when you do the collateral.
This probably won't help but I've seen it fix a few CoD2 issues...
Start>Run>C:\program files\common files
rename the installshield folder to anything other than what it is now.
When the installer runs again it will auto-install installshield, this might help...
Erm.... I play with 768 RAM with minor slowdowns... there are some memory issues but it's only with select people.... it's a bad problem but it's not happening with everyone...
Start->Run->type C:\program files\common files
Right click installshield, rename to installshieldold
run the installer again, it will auto-reinstall installshield, this might help
2k Games is teh suk... I waited like 5 mins for their web site to come up.... browsed like 15 forum posts here while waiting.... Firaxis should've chosen a better publisher, and stuck with Atari or something....
Might wanna reinstall ActiveX
If you used a manual patch that might have caused it.
For the Temp files get a copy of moveonboot... I thinks that's what it's called.... it'll delete stuff before it goes into windows, so it'll wipe those out... I'll try to find it and post a link...
Yeah... here...
Nah.... it's bantu u gotta watch out for... Americans may have extra resources... but I've managed to get +999 to everything without them several times.... the wonder isn't a big deal, govt stuff doesn't cost a whole lot.
What really sucks is when Bantu knock on your door with an army 3 times...
Who needs cities when you can instantly conquer a nation?
6 commandos, a small army and a general... get the commandos to sabotage the capital at the same time and send the army end, instant win if the enemy doesn't spot you ^^
I haven't played in about a year... just wondered over here from the Civ forums... but when I did play tough was becoming pretty easy, I did okay at tougher in 1v1.... I probably couldn't beat easy now though ^^
I agree... but:
Armies don't consist of 3 little people fighting.
Cities don't pull resources from an exact ammount of space
War weariness doesn't always happen IRL
Spearmen don't kill tanks
It doesn't take a year for a platoon to make 1 attack
People in a platoon don't magically...
How can anyone ever go above 1280x1024 on a 17 inch? have a microscope on the screen? that's insane..... I play civ on 1280x1024 and I'm fine with it... the graphics are a little muddy but I don't play civ4 for graphix... I'd play quake4 if I wanted something that looked pretty
Lots.... and lots.... and lots of towns... they won't cut the cost... but having +400 gold a turn while staying ahead in techs makes it not seem so bad... combine with free speech and you are good to go.... I had 25,000 gold stockpiled in my last game, so if I got attacked I could've just beefed...
I have a system about the same as that too....
2 ghz Athlon
768 - 333 mhz RAM
256 MB Visiontek Xtasy 9500
I can play at high settings for everything with like 2x AA and I just get slight pauses at end of turns and switching units... I don't have a prob with crashes....
I'm having the same...
IMO Civ3 was complete 1s and 0s... Civ4 changed it because you don't go by the same formula every time... I dunno, maybe that's just me... Civ2 didn't seem as linear but then again I haven't played it in a long time, hard to remember... I do think the gaming industry isn't being very innovative...
