Your article contains more useful info than all 2k articles put together (which sadly is speaking volumes about the state of the game industry today).
Well done, sir!
PS This most definitely deserves to become a sticky.
How can you fight when Oracle says you will lose? In the few occasions I had the Oracle there was no possibility of fighting when the Oracle says NO. You just press OK and the unit loses it's turn.
I think you should include Japan on you list of "economic civs" (and to a lesser extent Greece). Although it doesn't have any 'direct' economic bonus the +1 food on ocean square translates in a very powerful economic benfit since ocean means trade and trade+food means faster growth.
What do you mean? I've played ~75 ranked games and I don't feel manipulated at all... frustrated on the abysmal multiplayer code quality yes (if we can qualify as "quality" such a shoddy work)... but manipuled not. You too seem to be doing ok on the in-game ladder so what are some real problems...
I don't feel it kicks on even later in the game.. caravan gold is bigger when the destination towns are bigger and when you advance the era but I don't feel it's any different than what you get from 'normal' caravans.
The Arabs ancient era bonus is "+50% caravan gold" however I have never got more than the regular caravan amount (which is 50 gold in the first stages of game). Did anyone got increased caravan gold in any game with the Arabs?
I've seen similar requests before and I don't get it... why would we need an external ladder system when there is one in the game already? (it's called Ranked Match.. for those who did not find it yet in the menus).
I second that. It happened to me at least two times to get a Temple after being the first to research Ceremonial Burial. It might be related to the difficulty level and/or single/multiplayer mode 'cause lately I haven't got anything for being first (I now play mostly mp and single on deity)...
The German automatic upgrade for elite units is there for the whole duration of the game. What is not that clearly specified is that the trigger for the upgrade is not the moment the unit becomes elite but only the moment one researches a new technology... if the unit is not elite at the time it...
Do you have a 2k source for what they looked into? I find the scores highly suspicious.
For example the current number 1 on Deity finished in 2500BC (with Domination) that is in 15 turns. The 4 AIs are disposed in a sort of star pattern with the farthest (Saladin) at 16 regions distance (there...
In Warlords a unit with a general attached to it can get the Medic III promotion (it requires Medic I and II) which adds +15% healing to both the medic square and adiacent squares for a whopping total of +25% healing on the medic square and adiacent squares (in other words it is of course...
It's not mistaken, you can indeed build modern age ships (including Destroyers) with Uranium, however in order to be able to "use" Uranium you need to have researched Fission (in other words.. although you can 'see' Uranium in your city resource box it's not actually there until Fission)
:) You are indeed right, however this was changed in one of the vanilla patches (like the other changes in your list). It's my fault though 'cause I assumed that everyone runs vanilla with 1.61. I will edit the post to be clear what baseline I am using for comparison.
Since I couldn't find one in the documentation, I have compiled a list with changed things in Warlords as compared with v1.61 (for the NEW things you can go here)
Buildings
Heroic Epic requires a level 5 unit (as oposed to 4 previously) and West Point level 6 (as oposed to 5)
Barracks...
Hi,
How about provinding a start save file for all of us who are not part of any team but want to get their fingers wet while following the progress of the experts? Or maybe there is one (I couldn't find one after about 20 minutes of searching)
Thanks,
Alexandru
