Curse of the Drinking Class (360 achievement)

It is only resources, production, hammers, whatever you want to call it, that counts. The poster above me pretty much nailed it, but to make it even easier, on top of what he said, use the Americans. 3x factory is pretty major for this.

Civilization Revolution Sweepstakes: Enter to Win!

Yay. Maybe I'll get luck for once.

England - arguably the best civ for domination?

This is a good post, Aden. The English at first glance look like they'd be more suited for turtling and going for culture early. I've never looked at it this way, and reading this makes me want to go play them again.

New patch 1.10 - no more mega city :-(

The OP seems to have blatantly lied. I have never heard of a developer changing a game in this significant of a way, much less doing it without officially announcing it. This would be a major patch, complete with press release posted to all the major gaming news outlets. Also, even if...

    Foreign Advisor = Condoleezza Rice

Haha never noticed that. It could be a coincidence, but its way close for sure.

    Nuke.....

Don't think it explicitly says that is the case. Though it would make sense, and that is true in Civ IV. What it definitely does do it bring your culture down a level unless you're running a despotism.

    Ridiculous AI Aggression

Yes, this is the biggest flaw in this game. The AI aggression, and how much diplomacy was dumbed down. I think diplomacy as it was in CivIV is one thing that inexperienced players would have been able to wrap their heads around. It is ridiculous not to have open borders and other treaties...

So, after 1 night playing which civilization impress you the most?

Of course the Romans with the mega-city are the most powerful, and I haven't been able to come up with anything even close to as quick and dominant as that. I won an easy eco victory on king for my first game. I'm not a great player, so when I go for the Deity wins I'll probably use this, as...

Any Americans get a copy today?

Got mine this afternoon at a Best Buy in the Houston area. They had plenty, it was no problem. Curiously, Gamestop right across the street said they didn't have them at the same time. Played one good game... its really fun. Its just wierd to me... there really should be a renaissance era in...

    Trophy Support for PS3?

@ alex: You think Sony is losing money on the PS3 because they're trying to be nice to you and are working hard? Every console manufacturer who pushes the boundaries of readily available tech is going to take a loss. Nintendo didn't, MS did, and Sony took the biggest. If they had not made their...

Any Americans get a copy today?

My Gamestop said they will have it tomorrow, though that was yesterday when I called them, so I may try them again later. Wal-Mart said this morning that they didn't yet have it, but they have trucks coming at 2 and 8, both of which it could be on... the 8 one is likely, but if its that late...

    Quick Settler Production

Boss Nasti, you are 110% in the wrong here. First, let's look at the definition of a handicap as it applies to something of a competitive form. Like sports, or a video game. "a race or other contest in which certain disadvantages or advantages of weight, distance, time, etc., are placed upon...

Will Civ Rev outsell Civ 4

I dunno how it's gonna sell. I just know that a lot of you would be surprised in how many of my friends... the stereotypical teen male shooter loving xbox types are really looking forward to this game. They loved the demo and are gonna buy it on release day. I love my shooters but I also love...

    Economics Win Guide/complete walkthrough (demo)

I haven't explored nearly enough, but it seems the quickest (possibly only) way to get to them would be a naval crossing across a small sea that separates you from them... which still isn't very fast... and I'm not 100% sure a galley can even make it across. Give it a look, let us know what...

    Economics Win Guide/complete walkthrough (demo)

Has anyone tried out the new map? Seems like the Egyptians get the Hanging Gardens every time... makes it impossible to build up the mega-city quickly enough. It seems like in the full game the Egyptians could be really annoying, because they're often going to get the wonder you want for...

    Economics Win Guide/complete walkthrough (demo)

Its making me go invention, and then industrialization. I've been trying today to get an economic victory on Warlord... its tough. The closest I've gotten was one time when I unlocked the World Bank with two turns to go, and hadn't built a factory, so I didn't have any overflow. Whenever I...

    Economics Win Guide/complete walkthrough (demo)

I just followed this tactic, and also didn't have any hammers saved. I then realized a major difference between what Vale and I did: I didn't build a factory. I still won the victory at 750 AD, but yeah... I was missing the hammer overflow. @ Vale: Have you tried doing it on Warlord yet? I...

I don't understand the Oracle bonus...

I sort of agree... Ive never built it, but seem to always get it as my starting wonder when I play with the Egyptians.
