I can easily win on Prince with an SE on Vanilla. I usually get two cities and then grab Pyramids and Oracle, Pyramids being much more important. If you get Oracle grab CoL for Courthouses + Good trading tech as they prefer Math and the 3C's.
After my intial build I get 2-3 more cities and...
I think the problem is more so with you SE. I can easily grab Scientific Method before anyone else grabs education and proceed to take Bio or Beyond from my free tech. If on Prince you don't have a huge tech lea by then, your doing something wrong.
Techs become much cheaper when you devote all you commerce to espionge because the bonus you receive for having more EP's and when you place a spy stationary for 5 turns.
If your Mao turn Bejing into a GP POWERSHOUSE (desevres the caps). If Quin cottage it up. You have amazing terrain, a bunch of cities and more land. This game it amazing.
Barry Sanders could have easily had 3000 yards on Emmit Smith and Walter Payton, he just hated playing for the Lions. As soon as Ford leaves Lions = t3h pwn.
I know there is a College Football thread. This story deserves it's own thread. According to Lou Holtz it's the greatest upset ever.

Those Archers are un-needed, go Worker - Worker - Settler - Warrior or Worker - Warrior - Worker -Settler. Another warrior can be thrown in before the settler. Dont worry about being attacked early in the game, there is no need to sacrafice early production to build archers you won't use...
I am a Vanilla, Prince level player who quits most games at Lib because I'm literally too far ahead.
I play Saladin much of the time.
I normally run a SE trying to grab Oracle / Pyramids. Oracle isn't nessecary but CoL is a great trading tech because many civs have such a low preference...
Today I played a Vanilla Tiny / 9 Civ / Pangea with Monty and Toku as neighbors. I thought I was okay as Monty was my religion as Toku had no good route to my cap. Then Monte backstabs me but I was eventually able to fend him and Toku off. Fun fun neighbor. It seems to me if you play...
