Sometimes I start games with a peaceful mind but I always end up with a large empire and a few of my neighbours on 0pts. State Property is simply the best civic to keep your finances under control! It's definately harder to win with a small empire anyway.

State Property is the BEST CIVIC IN THE GAME! I just hate it when the U.N forces me to change as well. Were the U.N in previous Civ games? I think it's an addition that is just in to make the end game more interesting - which it doesn't!! It only gets me frustrated, whether I'm SG or not.

That's a good thought. You would have to think more stratigically, especially when it comes to war and when you're up against units with a movement of more than one. As for the city tiles I don't think it would make an awful big difference.

I don't have warlords yet so I have to go for creative. It helps establish new cities easier by making the borders expand quicker, especially if you don't have stonehenge. Your workers can then build on the squares 2 away from your city while everyone else is stuck with city radii of 1.
