And I said that the smarter AI doesn't have to affect all computer opponents just those at harder difficulty levels. As I also said earlier it's better on many levels to play the harder difficulty levels against a smart AI opponent compared to a dumb cheating AI opponent.
Currently a...
Play a game using smart map where each player has their own continent and use 90% water. Otherwise multiple civs on the same continent will be more of a war game.
I'm not saying change the AI for the easy difficulty levels... I'm saying improve the AI for the harder difficulty levels compared with giving it production/cost/other bonuses. There's more fun and knowledge to be learend playing against an AI opponent who is smarter compared with playing...
As I wrote earlier...
Game settings can always be setup to provide the human player with the production/battle bonuses if the AI opponents ever even come close to matching our strategy skills.
thus keeping a greater percentage happy.
So many many many many many times we see...
I haven't seen much differences in their personalities... from the programming code I've only seen different formulas used for declaring war. What other factors affect one AIs behavior differently than another ?
Embracing the idea of keeping computer opponents stupid is backwards thinking. It would be the same as wanting an obese, low_IQ and depressed girlfriend for the purpose of feeling more healthy and happier about yourself. Game settings can always be setup to provide the human player with the...
Pray enough MAC users buy the CIV_4 game... if the publisher and developer doesn't earn enough money then it will greatly damage the chances of any sequels(CIV_5) being released for MAC.
I agree players would have equally just as much fun with smart AI opponents if given difficulty choices allowing bonuses we currently see given to the AIs. The other benefit is a smart AI would actually educate the player on being more clever reacting to different strategies compared with now...
Thanks for your opinion, but we obviously disagree and perhaps you are the one naive. Everyone I've met which play TBS games quickly toss the games with stupid AIs. Maybe the network of people you know just don't mind stupid AIs, but my friends and family grow bored with stupid AIs. And my...
I agree... we're not going to see any AI improvements with WL-expansion. I'm sure 98.5% of the civilization gamers would have been happy to trade back to the CIV_3 graphics in exchange for very smart AI opponents and larger maps. The developers and publishers don't know and/or care we want...
Download the smartmap tool... then you can set the ocean to be as much as 95% if you wish. The smartmap tool is very valuable if you have a system which is 1GB of ram or better, 128MB graphics card and at least 1.4Ghtz because you can create worlds larger than huge.
I could not imagine...
EW0054... or you could set the game difficulty to Settler and setup the game map with islands. 85% ocean should leave you plenty of time as well before ever running into the other civs.... as they would need Astronomy.
I will rephrase his words:
" I stole this sports car from a dealership last week yet today the radio stopped working. When I call the dealership they refuse to repair or replace the broken radio. I guess that stealing the vehicle might have canceled the normal warranty which comes with new...
Turn_Off the Grid when playing the game... not sure why, but this causes major slowdown during the game. Use the food icon one instead.
Also if you want the game to load faster turn off the movies in the options.
