SGOTM 12 - Plastic Ducks

About war

Gandhi
t245
Take his final city on the landmass
Cease Fire
Settle ice city
Gift ice city

Move 2 galleons close to Lahore (last city) within t251. We will DoW once research is done.
Peace ASAP afterwards.

Stalin (keep cities)
t245
move boats closer (to here for the furthest).
Spoiler :

The goal is to take both of his S cities on the first turn as they contain the Tactical nukes.

t246
DoW
Take Omsk first with only 1 ship
Bombers in Kras strike Grenadiers in Arch
Destroyer bombards
Capture Arch

t247
Load back remaining troops and move to Stalingrad
Bombers strike

Rinse and repeat

t248~250 Stalin should be gone (there are 11 Grenadiers by Stalingrad so it might take 2~3 turns)

Roosevelt
We will use the Galleon2 that will move the workers (from Lyons and Atlanta) to transport troops. 6 should be more than enough to tackle whatever he has there.
Philadelphia, Boston (yes it's building a booster but we have 7 turns to build it so spending 1~2 turn is ok) and Trap can produce a few Cossacks to move there quickly.
This war should be also started when research is done.
Peace ASAP afterwards.

Churchill

The war will depend a lot on what he does with his SoD (30~32 units) next turn.
If it stays in place, that's bad for us, we need to strike it with Bombers and use a big stack unless we manage to lure it out somehow...
If it moves, it likely goes to Nott where we can crush it with our massive stack... but there is the risk it turns around!

Anyway.... I will assume it does not move.

t244
Move spy to Nott, focus EP on Church
Move SoD to SE Coal so we can take Nott on first turn.

t245
Gift city by Nott.
DoW
Attempt spy revolt Nott, strike Nott, capture Nott.
Prepare an amphibious attack on London (2 Marines Kha and Tours, rest is cossacks from SoD). Minimum 3 Galleons (2 from Irk, upgrade 1 galley nearby).
This same fleet can harass York next and other S cities.
West coast: Capture Canterbury and mass assault Warwick with Bombers. Destroyers bombard.
Land as many troops as possible next to SoD after Bombers strikes.

t246
Destroyers bombard Warwick, Bombers strike. Attack SoD
Canterbury stack moves toward Hastings. (will give us freedom of movement)

t247... hard to accurately estimate from on here, too many variables.
Once Warwick is captured, load some troops in boats and move to Oxford (long trip on foot, 2 turns by boat)

Coventry and Newcastle will be picked off by splitting stacks.

The war should be done by the time we are ready to launch.

~~~
I will play 6 turns (until change of civic on last GA turn) once we've agreed.
Gandhi
Send the Galleon near pacific island there, 3 cossacks can do the job.
Stalin
The biggest viable exists here, if he move the units outside the city into Omik, and 1 more to Ark, how do you do?
Roosevelt
Send a transport in Agra there
Churchill
T245 -- Nott captured, the rest of forces in Xian move toward Hasting. Keep 2 Tanks full health. Don't strike Warwick.
T246 -- Don't capture Hasting, kill all but 1 units and move SOD to inner ring of Hasting, Churchill's SOD should move in Hasting next turn. Capture Can and Oxford. Gather all available bombers around Hasting and remove his SOD next turn.
T247 -- Capture Warwick
York and London are easy picks with amphibious attacking, Just take them in order.
I was gonna use that galleon to move workers, but I guess a new galleon will be better for that job.
Stalin
Yea I know... I'm guessing he's just moving troops around for fun. If when ready to DoW there are still too many troops in the cities, I wait for another turn to see if the units will move.
If then they seem like they're going to stay in place, Kras will make a Galleon and I will airlift some units from Trap/New York.
Roosevelt
Send a transport in Agra there
It would arrive about at the same time as the galleons that we need for moving workers. I'd rather keep it south to move troops/workers.
Ok, sounds good :D
I had proposed London first for the SoZ, but for workers I guess it is much more convenient.
BTW, if we are really worried about food, there are 2 seafood we can CFB inside our culture within 3 turns.
I was gonna use that galleon to move workers, but I guess a new galleon will be better for that job.
Because that galleon is the closest, for worker transport, you can build a new galleon from Kur. Also the island with a uranium does not need additional worker.
The difference is that that transport from Agra has veterans loaded, new units from original American cities are level 1.
BTW, what's the tech after Fusion? MM for Hollywood (we can use the GE to rush it) and Fascism for a GG.
Go ahead when you are ready.
Techs after:
Sure. I was thinking of not caring at all but might as well research some more...
MM>Facism>Other techs for points
Ok for transport, I'll leave the GG Infantry behind though and swap with another Cossack.
Will play in a few hours, don't hold your breath it's long as you very well know :D
Played and uploaded.
These 6 turns took over 3 hours to play :D
Bad news: we lost about 2 units throughout all the wars.
Good news: everything is on pace for victory in 11!
Log too long... and boring.
Regardless... plan went very well and we can switch to Serfdom this turn, we have enough hammers in Moscow and Rostov.
Beware, I seem to have forgotten to shrink the screenshots!
t245
After taking the last mainland city from Gandhi, get a Cease Fire.
Spoiler :
Also gift him his hole.
Spoiler :
Churchill is placed on retirement...
Spoiler :
And gets the bad news :devil:
Spoiler :
Our spy failed miserably at revolting Nottingham however :(
Not that it changed anything.
t246
I built an Airship in Mag to scout Stalin's land on the previous turn. A recon mission indicated he did not move his troops into the cities so...
Spoiler :
t247
Stalin waves bye-bye...
Spoiler :
On the same turn, our amphibious attack strikes both London and York, taking both.
Spoiler :
t248
Churchill wasn't very cooperative with his SoD so I killed it on open ground instead of in Hastings. We lost 1 unit iIrc.
Spoiler :
t250
Used the Fusion GE to rush this...
Spoiler :
Finish taking Churchill cities. I make him revolt so he doesn't go Emancipation for another 5 turns.
Spoiler :
In the meantime, Gandhi lost Lahore and agrees to peace.
Spoiler :
As you might have noticed, the culture slider was pretty high (50%) to maintain happiness despite the 2 wars. This is the reason why I delayed the Roosevelt war until after the other 2 were done.
His city fell immediately of course and I parked a Cossack outside his remaining city.
Spoiler :
Our workers, hard at work to clean the mess left by Stalin :D
Spoiler :
Moscow
1248/1600, 7 workshops, 138 base hammers
Serfdom: 131 * 3 + 1248 = 1641 OK
Spoiler :
Rostov
1249/1600, 5 workshops, 119 base hammers
Serfdom: 114 * 3.5 + 1249 = 1648 OK
Spoiler :
Major discussion points for next set:
-none!
Kidding aside, we have to check thoroughly every tile to make sure we have not forgotten any fallout.
Oh... and we have 66 cities :devil: :devil:
Anyway... I re-examined the save but could not find any fallout that was unmarked (or without a worker already SF-ing it).
I will cancel *workers everywhere and instead assign a few from New York/Trap to airlift directly next to remaining fallout in Churchill's former land.
We seem to already have everything to be complete in ~6 turns so I can finish it up pretty much anytime...
Regarding cities, I will automate all of them on food so we can grow as max as possible for points!
Also might spread Sushi a bit where we don't have it.
Not sure I'll bother with workers after the fallout is cleared... a win is a win.
In any case, take your time to review for additional fallout and I will play once we're confident there isn't any remaining.
t250
Major discussion points for next set:
-none!
I have to agree.:D but, but, there's a small challenge, is it possible to see the in game score break 10K?;)
Since the worker forces are more than enough, I'd say stay at CS.
Tech--beeline future techs for growth, forget about DR and Demo
Cities -- work on tile to maximize growth
Spread Sushi as fast as possible.:rolleyes:
T260 -- Save and upload to show our progress the last time.
T261 -- Save and upload for victory!
Bring it home and let's do some reading!
And we are done!!!
Save here
Ticked the final save option... sending pm to AlanH/Erkon and then will post short report.
Final score was just shy of 11,000! We were bleeding gold pretty bad due to working all kind of bad tiles...
No comments, just screenshots.
Boring going through city screens/ SF/automate.
Spoiler :
My hat off to you!
:hatsoff:
It's funny we managed to finish on schedule for the original end date... good planning!
Guess I will e-mail the rest of the team to see if they remember us ;)
AlanH replied, check the PMs. Small team sometimes could go smoothly than big teams. Happy team work!
Looks like OSS is indeed going for Cannons... working on Churchill... more as I check out the save.
22 cities by 1350AD, no GLH.
3~4 turns off Medicine, going for Sushi without AL... hehehe
But they do have a GM+GE sitting by.
They built MoM and Pyramids ! (without Stone it seems... unless they traded for it?)
Liberalism>biology...
They did go into a religion earlier than us it seems (25 BC)... gained a lot of hammers with OR this way.
Lurker question:
AL? I saw a reference several days ago to Sushi with or without AL, but cant figure out what AL is or its significance to sushi. I am sure it is obvious, but I just cant figure it out.
Assembly Line :D
Producing Executives without AL is pretty slow going. Since we took Lib>AL, we could produce 1/turn per city easily.
We had higher beaker output at same date (1350 vs 1000) and they are in GA ;)
